Writers have a terrible habit of romanticizing the process of writing. But, at its core, it's really not that complicated.

Read to learn the patterns and the methods. Then write.
Eoghann Irving I don't actually think there is such a thing as "Writer's Block".

I think there are a variety of situations and mindsets that may put you in the position where you don't feel like writing.

And that answer to them all is to make time, sit down and write something.
Eoghann Irving Mostly through reading or watching things. I'll see something and it will trigger an idea (probably a small one) that will go skittering off until the void that is my brain until it collides with another idea.

Really finding ideas is the easiest part of the whole writing thing. Ideas are everywhere.

Eoghann Irving There's actually a whole story behind that. It all comes from the first line in the story. "Shepherdstown is overrun by werewolves."

This is actually something that was quoted to me as a statement that had been made quite seriously. It stuck with me and eventually the story followed.
