Sekina Mayu For me, I get to read books and articles that I doubt that I will pick if I'm browsing in a bookstore. And you'll never know that the books that you've read will become the source of inspiration from your next book.

I can also spend my time with reading anything that can inspire my writing. It's a perfect excuse to read since you can only become a better writer if you read a lot.

And yes, it feels liberating too since you're doing something that you enjoy and make money at the same time.
Sekina Mayu You need to ask yourself what do you hope to achieve from your writing. It's fine if you write because it's a creative outlet for you and you don't care whether people love your writings or buy your books.

But if you want to make a living from your books, then you have to think of it like a business. It doesn't matter whether you want to get a book deal or self-publish your book. You have to approach every single thing from a business perspective.

Sekina Mayu I'm gathering materials for the second book from the Trigger Locked series. I will start writing the book during NaNoWriMo 2017.
Sekina Mayu Unfortunately, I don't wait for the inspiration to come. For the most part, I just sit down, write a rough outline for the chapter and yank my way until I reach at least 3000 words for the said chapter. The inspiration may or may not come the moment I begin writing.
Sekina Mayu There's no doubt that the idea behind Twisted Destiny has a lot do with my penchant for sports anime and manga. The book itself was influenced by Kuroko no Basket, Slam Dunk and even non-basketball anime and manga such as Ace of Diamond, Haikyuu!! and Yowamushi Pedal.

As for the first book from the Trigger Locked series, it was my stumble upon of articles related to monarch programming that led me to write the first book in such way.

The Diary of Modern Cinderella was based on the script for the stage play when I was involved in the drama and theatre activity during my college years.
