Claudie Arseneault Hi!

VIRAL AIRWAVES is a standalone, and there won't be a sequel to it. There is a small novella prequel on Seraphin (The White Renegade).

City of Spires will be *four* books. It was planned as three, so you might see mentions of trilogy on the internet, but I had underestimated how much space I would need to tell it properly.
Claudie Arseneault Baker Thief. I mean, it's basically Québec in a steampunk-ish era but with magic. I could still stuff my face with croissant and have awesome queer friends so yeah.

Between my two published/soon to be) ones (Viral Airwaves and Isandor), er... I think Viral Airwaves? Post-novel, especially. It's a world on its way to becoming really solarpunk. But I'd want to bring all my Isandor friends over there haha ;)
Claudie Arseneault Okay, so I got mine because the author is another author I know, and trading review is a way to help each others out. BUT, here's how regular book reviewer do, as far as I know:

1) start a book reviewing blog. Post review of books they love regularly, build an audience (often they crosspost on goodreads and Amazon, and have twitter accounts).

2) Make sure you have a page saying what you review and how to contact you. Sometimes people will come forward to offer you books in exchange for a honest review.

3) Register to NetGalley. It's the biggest site for exchange ARCs and if you want books from big publishing houses, I think you need to be on there.

4) I think you can ask small houses and indie authors. I'm not sure what the guidelines are for this.

I think book bloggers also trade books sometimes? But the first step would be to start a blog and network with others who read in a similar genre. They'll be able to help you out even more!
Claudie Arseneault A high fantasy saga with a large crew of characters, all happening in a single city, all very queer friendly. We're talking wizards and elves, assassins and politicians, street orphans and head of a noble house.
Claudie Arseneault Write. Write a lot. Yeah, it's not an original answer, but it is the best. Write often and write something you love. Allow yourself to be carried away and obsessed with your characters. Don't limit yourself, or your writing muscles won't grow. Best to try out things and edit them out later than to write the same thing over and over.
Claudie Arseneault When it comes to writing itself, I think what I love most is that moment when I plan and outline when all the pieces of the puzzle suddenly come together. It's like everything falls in place on its own -- theme, character arcs, story, etc.

When it comes to being published or sharing the work -- oh my gosh, people's reaction. Nothing makes me more happy than the squeals of joy and the angry "you didn't dare!!" I receive from readers. XD
