Have you ever been to the site of the Little Big Horn? I was there last month! The movie explaining the strategy of the battle is much more even handed than it was when I was a girl.
D.B. Woodling That's wonderful, Charlotte. I seldom travel anywhere without touring this or that historical site! So much research went into the novel. I hope you'll have the opportunity to read it, as it's told from the Sioux Indians and George A. Custer's point of view.

D.B. Woodling Mike Malone and Tara from FINAL CLAIM. Their relationship is complicated, tumultuous, and raw.

D.B. Woodling To be honest, Marie, I've yet to read a novel I could enthusiastically recommend, aside from a few classics. I noted you enjoy love stories. If you have the opportunity, you might try Shannon's Land, a suspenseful historical romance. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated!

Higgins is my favorite author..great minds think alike and all that! Ok Mark Greaney, the gray man series. Ted Bell ( some of the earlier ones, Asassin, Hawk, PIrate, Spy..got repetitive after that.. I felt. Brett Battles..starting with the Cleaner. Richard Doetsch..Theives of Faith, and others in this series. Barry Eisler. Phillip S Donlay-Catagory 5. Joseph Finder, Paranoia, The Fixer. Have you heard of these?
D.B. Woodling Did you mean David Baldacci's 2014 novel The Hit? I researched it on Amazon and it sounds promising. I have heard of The Fixer by Joseph Finder and will add both novels to my must read list! Thank you, Lisa.

Thanks for your friendship request. I will check out your books also..what type of thrillers do you like? If you want some suggestions I would be happy to suggest something. The reason I ask is I think of them being in different categories...Patterson, Cussler, Jack Higgins write quite different types of stories. I tend to go for the less gory and have gotten away from the Patterson type ones mostly.
D.B. Woodling You're welcome, Lisa. I'm not a huge Patterson fan. I appreciate any mystery/suspense/thriller with a different twist, interesting characters, and believable dialogue. I'd appreciate your recommendations, possibly in the Jack Higgins line?

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
D.B. Woodling I've had the idea on the back burner for a few years, too involved in my detective series to do much with it. Hopefully, by the time it's complete, I will have succeeded in putting a new spin on YA paranormal.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
D.B. Woodling That's a tough one. I think, for me, it's the possibility that this work I am giving my all will someday inspire, entertain, move someone, and/or just be a healthy distraction.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
D.B. Woodling Sometimes I take a break and read. Usually, I close my eyes, take a breath, and get right back to work!

What are you currently working on?
D.B. Woodling Currently, I'm writing a YA paranormal. Once that is accomplished, I'll have a strong foothold on nearly all the genres. Regarding nonfiction, I'm hoping to write the biography of one of the first female Navy Captains in the not-too-distant future.
