It is hard to pin this down to one thing. There are several things I like about being a writer. The creative process of developing a story is very fulfilling for me. For my fiction writing, I like to create the characters and then see how they respond to the situations they are put in. Being able to tell a story to other people in a way that entertains and inspires others is very motivating for me as well.

It depends. Sometimes I will take a break and do something else for a bit. Other times I will use the brain dump technique to generate ideas to help me move forward, or I may even work on an idea for an unrelated story.
