Oh, you're very welcome, Sheila! I love to hear from readers and thanks again for writing. I'm definitely going to continue writing the Zodiac Mysteries. I think Julia has a lot more adventures to experience in her life, don't you? Lots of possibilities in San Francisco and at The Mystic Eye!

Hi Sheila ~ thanks for writing! Sorry I'm so slow keeping up with Goodreads or I would have seen your message earlier.
Tail of the Dragon (Book 3 in the Zodiac Mysteries) was released in August 2018. I'm almost finished with Book 4, tentatively titled Serpent's Doom. I'm guessing this book will see the light of day (hopefully) before next August. I hope you've been enjoying Julia's adventures and will stay in touch!
Happy reading ~

It happens. I think the solution is to keep typing. A lightbulb will eventually go off in your brain and what you've written might even make sense.

The best times are when ideas are flowing and you actually have the feeling of walking though your own story, like an out of body experience, when your characters seem to become living and breathing people. But the best thing of all is receiving a message from a reader that they loved your story! That's priceless!

Just keep writing. Don't think you can't do it, you certainly can! It is hard work but very rewarding.

I'm working on the second book in the Zodiac Mysteries. I plan to call it Dark Sun, and hope my publisher likes that title. It would be fun, I think, to use the name of a planet in the title of each book and to tie that planet and its aspects into the actual chart of a character.

Well, in terms of ideas for plots, literally anything can be a jumping off point. It could be a true crime story that doesn't answer many questions, but is intriguing nonetheless. The best ideas can come from the strangest places -- people watching, a slice of music, an offhand comment, anything that makes you wonder "what if."

I've always been fascinated by astrology and thought it would be wonderful to create a protagonist who uses that art of synthesis to solve crimes. I lived in San Francisco for many years and wanted to set Julia's adventures there. It's a beautiful city, but a city of mystery with many moods and faces.
