Erin Torkelson Weber There are further issues in Beatles historiography that certainly need exploring, and which I eventually plan to examine, later on. One would be a discussion regarding the portrayal of females in Beatles historiography. Another would be an analysis of the impact that fandom now has on how history is written and/or received.
Erin Torkelson Weber Inspiration was less of a struggle than finding uninterrupted time to do it in. Beatles historiography offers a marvelous wealth of primary and secondary sources -- there were numerous works I would have liked to discuss, and analyze, but simply didn't have the time or manuscript space to do it in.
Erin Torkelson Weber After casually reading some works on the Beatles, I discovered the depth of and the debates in their historiography. The narratives that had told their story, and the rampant partisanship and sloppy methodology so many authors had used piqued my interest as a researcher and historian. I also wanted to delve into a historiographical study of a more modern, media-centric topic: let's face it; the historiography of World War I is fascinating, but its been done to death.
