No, in all truth I think that the things I write when I'm genuinely inspired to make for much better reading. Sitting down and forcing words to get to the next page, the way I often hear recommended, has never made compelling reading. When I can't get words out, I'll find someone who will ask me story questions. Usually a case of writer's block is just a case of not being REALLY convincingly sure that I'm on the right track, and talking it through with another actual human usually highlights the thing I'm missing, as revealed through negative space. You can't do this alone in a bare room through force of will. I really believe that. You need to turn your heart on.
