Hahaha... Thanks Si! Deano's reputation is going to take him far and wide, so his working environments are going to become fairly transient and varied.

Hi John, thank you for the message. In short, yes - much more!
I am currently working on the final part of the Storm Log trilogy which will be out early next year, and I have already completed the ending which sets up any number of standalone novels featuring Detective Deans.
As a main protagonist, 'Deano' has gone down really well with readers and I'll keep writing stories for him for as long as there is demand.
Thank you for enjoying my books and very best wishes,
James

The freedom to create whatever you allow your mind to imagine. And having the means of sharing that with others.

Resolve one problem at a time, don't try to fix everything at once.
I'm lucky, I live near the ocean, and when my brain is fried with a myriad of thought processes banging into one another and getting nowhere, I take myself away to the beach, or sit at a viewpoint watching the waves. It doesn't stop the thoughts racing, but taking myself away from the PC or laptop seems to aid clarity.
I also find that many of my creative blockages are resolved when I least expect them; driving, day job, walking the dog, sitting on the throne!
I make sure that I have a means recording those golden nuggets, because they are often quickly forgotten.

When you reach that point when you think your manuscript 'will do,' it most likely won't. Although you are desperate to reach the next stage of the publishing assault course, take a step away, have another pair of eyes review your work, and prepare yourself for a few more months of editing. Only when you are convinced that nothing more can be done to IMPROVE your work, can you move to the next stage. Happy editing :)

I really didn't have a plan laid out, and this was my first attempt at writing a novel.
I began, I created a protagonist I enjoyed writing about, and I let him and the other characters find their way. It was a very exciting way to write; I sometimes felt like a passenger, or a reader with the ability to influence the storyline, several chapters at a time.

I was initially inspired by a chance encounter with the author, Chris Ryan. These days, I need little inspiration to write - it has become a necessity.

Most of my recent time has been spent preparing the background elements of my debut for publication. I am looking forward to continuing (already a third of the way in) the sequel to STORM LOG-0505, and juggling ideas to continue the series.
