Being able to tell a fantastic story and have it go in any direction you want. Reading may be awesome, but you're only limited to someone else's perceptions. Writing puts you in the driver's seat.

Writer's block is an excuse. A way to procrastinate. I think it was Jerry Seinfeld that said that. You don't "deal" with writer's block, you just sit down and write. Stop convincing yourself you have writer's block when what you're really doing is avoiding any actual work.
