Good question! I'd have to say Anne and Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables. I loved that book growing up and am now re-watching the film adaptation (the one starring Megan Follows) with my daughters.
A close second would be Jo March and Professor Bhaer from Little Women/Good Wives. In both these cases, instead of fretting over boys, the heroine works hard and follows her dreams. Only when she has found her true self, does true love find her. I've always liked that message.
