Seana Kelly Honestly, it depends on whether or not people still want to read the books. I've starting the plotting for book 4 and have some ideas for 5. I've always liked the number 7, but it all depends on what readers think. Thanks for asking :)
Seana Kelly Nora Roberts is always on my summer reading list. I'll be reading her new book Come Sundown. I love Jill Shalvis and her new book Lost and Found Sisters is also at the top of the list. I'm currently reading the Darkfever series by Karen Marie Moning and losing entire days to the books. I'll finish that series first and then switch to her Highlander-Druid series. Laurie Benson has a new Secret Lives of the Ton book that was just published--An Unexpected Countess. Michele Arris' debut Devil's Deal. I chose Neil Gaiman's new book Norse Mythology for my book group. I'm listening to that one on Audible. Gaiman reads it and I love his voice!

I'm also a big re-reader of books, depending on my mood. I love to re-read the In Death series, the Mercy Thompson series, the Written in Red series, Charlie Davidson series, the Harry Potter series... There are a lot of books on my SR list :) How about you? What's on your list?
Seana Kelly Read. Writers are readers. The more you read, the more you internalize patterns of storytelling and grammar. Observe. Pay attention to the way people move, behave, react, and speak. Think. Why does she hold her hand over her mouth when she speaks? Why does he stuff his hands in his pockets? Empathize. If you were in that person's place, how would you feel? What would you want? What would you fear? What would you need to learn in order to earn what you want? Then, write. Write what you like, what you're interested in. Tell the kind of stories you love but that are uniquely yours. I love Toni Morrison's quote "If there is a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."
Seana Kelly I think my favorite part is creating characters and situations that others become emotionally invested in. As readers, we know what it is to lose ourselves in books. Books can make me cry, make me think, make we walk around in a deep funk all day, not understanding why I'm so upset before I remember that it's the book I'm reading that's soul-crushing, not my own life. And there are some books that are old friends, that we need to visit often because we miss them so much. My hope is that my stories before those old friends who are revisited.
Seana Kelly I'm currently working on the next in the From Maine with Love series. The next book will be Bear's.

I also have a paranormal books as well as the first in another contemporary series I'm working on.
Seana Kelly It depends on why I'm blocked. If I'm not moving forward because something feels wrong, I'll stop and rethink my characters, their motivations, their goals and conflicts, the tone, etc. Once I figure out what's tripping me up, I can edit and continue. If I'm lost in a scene and not sure where to take it, I sometimes look at the scene from another character's perspective—write it that way—and it usually shakes loose whatever was blocking me. Or I call it a day and go read a book :)
