(view spoiler)[Hello Leo, thank you for your kind input to the like/reviews and stuff for my stuff. Sorry, I am a technophobe with digital navigation issues so I can not do something similar for you right now but will look out for a chance.

Not really. People are unique and each individual has their own perception of what is written on the page they are reading. A certain scene may be seen differently in one's minds eye than the next person. We all have our own imagination, this is why a book is what the reader makes it. 👍🐯

Awe!! Going through the wringer with my mental health and being stalked by horrible nasty hateful neighbours.
Apart from that I have been struggling to promote my book, not a lot of success currently. Kind am desperate to raise enough funds to move say from this suburban jungle the council has created around me.
Any how it is a pleasure to meet you.

(view spoiler)[Hello Leo. Do you have any advice for me to drive book sales up? As an incognito writer using a pseudonym 'push' marketing tactics are not working and I want to try to connect with likely readers directly using 'pull-through' techniques. My genre and potential readership is also worm-like: narrow in places and not where you would expect to find it (as I have discovered). Any ideas? Thank you (hide spoiler)]

Hi Elizabeth. I really have no advice as I could do with some myself. Last August I took out a bank loan; I have no income and my girl had to sign guarantor, to raise the funds to self- publish my first book. Since then I have borrowed more money to do an ad campaign on Goodreads. I have also given away quite a few free e-books for review and I know it is a waiting game for readers to get back to me. I have sold 21 books in almost a year! It is demoralizing Elizabeth, I can tell you that. What with my mental health and all but, we plod on, do we not? It is very, very difficult to self- promote one's work. I have to sell at least five hundred books just to break even. It is ironic that I have two more books waiting to be published but just do not have the funds to pay for it.
I was told that one's second book sells the first. Fine if one has the money.
All I can suggest is stick with it and hope you get a lucky break. I am still waiting for mine. 👍🐯

A very vivid imagination and an urge to put it onto paper, or in the ether as it were. I hope, with luck and determination, my writing will make me enough to live a contented life.
A sentence appears in my mind, and then another in the blink of time, and before I know it they seem to rhyme, words that flow that are Leo's, that is my inspiration to write my prose. 👍🐯

Hi Alan. Yes I do live near an estuary. It separates Wales from Bristol in UK and is the second fastest tide in the world. The first is in China. From 1993-1995 I worked in the estuary, during the construction of the second Severn Crossing, For Laing/GTM. It was, let us say, an experience.🐯👍

I have purused and written reviews on many books that I have read on the esoteric. I will have a better look when my PC is fixed/updated. If you would like to converse on esoteric knowledge and bounce some ideas and thoughts off each other I will gladly welcome any correspondence. Feel free to send me a private message.👍🐯

I will have a look. Sorry for my ignorance I do try to answer all questions and requests. I am using the Goodreads app on my Kindle at present and I find the interface limited compared to my PC. When my computer is ready; having a software rebuild at present; I can navigate around Goodreads with no limitations.👍🐯

I have an open mind on most subjects. I cannot though abide child abuse or animal cruelty, bullying or usury, bigotry, discrimination or violence in any way shape or form.
I live by these simple principles. Universal law. Don't harm steal or kill.
I also think that truth and information should not be hidden. We live in a world whereby the majority is scrutinized and monitored 24/7 and a tiny miniscule percentage of the really powerful and rich are not.

Leo, I apologize for my absence in keeping our dialog open, but I have/am suffering from heartache and betrayal that has devastated me to the point of total numbness. To have your thought to be soul mate break every bond of matrimony is enough for any man to bear. I am coming out of this coma, no matter how slow progress may be, this too shall pass! I am reaching out for your friendship and seek any comfort you can render. A friend can sometimes be all you needs answered...hear the sound of a voice crying out in the wilderness. Your response is anticipated and greatly needed. I wish you peace and prosperity.

Oh! Dear!
Sorry to hear of your plight Michael. To be betrayed by a loved one is not just a terrible thing but as you rightly say, soul destroying.

Sorry to hear of your plight Michael. To be betrayed by a loved one is not just a terrible thing but as you rightly say, soul destroying.
Please accept my condolences for your current emotional stress. I must admit I was wondering if you were maybe on vacation or working away due to your absence from Goodreads.
I too have on going issues. In a world that is completely becoming more and more difficult to live in everyday, other worries and plights add to the confusion and stress in one's life.
Keep in touch Michael. Leo is still a friend you can converse with even though we are in different time zones.
Take care Buddy.
Kind regards,

I go for a walk in the woods near my home. I sit and listen to the birds and the babbling brook. I wonder at the flowers and the structure of the petals and their sweet smelling aroma. I sometimes climb a tree and look out over the horizon where the estuary floods in. Writers block sucks but, there is a world of inspiration just outside. I find writers block lifts its ugly head when one is stuck in a study and stares at four walls. I will go out in the garden and take my Kindle with me. I have often written ideas down on a beer mat in the past. When Otis Reading had the hit with Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay; one of my favourite songs; I imagine him and Steve Cropper sat on the dock of the bay with a pencil and paper and writing that song.

oh I can relate with you, I have FM and suffer from extreme noisy sensitivity & anxiety, it sucks.. When I said that you were lucky I didn't mean you have it all, I was just saying that because you can go to a park to relax, I have a couple in my City as well but too crowded and noisy I'm afraid but alas we can't have perfect lives! Concerning to what you said about your work's recognition I understand. You know, I'm pretty sure that when I managed to finish my 2 novels and decide to finally publish my poems I won't be famous whatsoever but this is just a personal dream, I'll be happy when I publish them. In the meantime I wish you all the best and take it easy, have fun!)

When I look at say Stephen King I often wonder that if a writer like Stephen never quite had the skills he has to put his imagination into print, would he go mad? I see writing as a kind of venting. Like when we breathe we vent out the used air and the new air is recycled. I see that same scenario in writing. If I could not put my imagination onto paper then all those ideas and words and scenarios stay swirling around in my head with no where to go. It is like I am metaphorically breathing stale air. I am very impatient and impulsive. Some writers compose their work in a more relaxed and methodical way. It can take years to write a book. I myself am a manic writer. My fingers or my tongue cannot keep up with my imagination. I often resemble The Phantom Of The Opera manically tapping away at the keyboard. The difference is he plays wonderful music and I write a lot of gibberish. I often have to read through what I have written and do a manual spell check whereby I have tapped the wrong keys. I sometimes have to try and work out what I have written. LOL! It is the fun of reading back what I have penned and then trying to decipher it. Writing is therapeutic for me.
