Kristie Booker I'm not sure that I've ever had true writer's block. However, when I find myself uninspired, I go for a walk in nature, spend some time meditating, read a book or watch a great movie.
Kristie Booker The best thing for me about being a writer is the inward journey. I get to check out of reality and go on a little adventure where I collect all the messages and stories that my soul has to share.
Kristie Booker My advice is to get out of your own way. Our ego is terrific at making us think we are not good enough, creating fear and setting up roadblocks. Tell your ego to get lost so your light (you) can shine out into the world.
Kristie Booker In addition to working on my blog and promoting Blooming Into Life, I'm working on creating an online course for women who would like to have a similar experience as Colleen in Blooming Into Life.
Kristie Booker I'm always most inspired to write early in the morning and always with a cup of coffee. In the winter months, I get the fireplace going, light candles, turn on one of my favorite Pandora stations (usually Indie Songwriter Radio or Chris Stapleton Radio). In the warmer months, I love to write outside on my front porch where I can listen to the birds and see the sun come up.
Kristie Booker As a wellness coach, I often work with women who feel like their body is never good enough. I began noticing how many women were measuring their self-worth by the number on the scales, the price tag of their clothes, and the status of their social groups. I took some time to reflect on my own behavior and realized that I was doing it too and it was all in the name of acceptance. So, I decided to write a story about a woman searching for acceptance.
