I've been a writer since childhood. I think I probably wrote my first short story when I was around eleven years old. I've always had a knack for spelling and grammar, and writing just comes easily for me most of the time. However, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I discovered the true passion that has led to publication.

Don't put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect. Find the process that works best for you, and choose a beta reader who is good with grammar and will be honest with you. Personally, I tend to write in four steps: brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing.

I take a step back and give myself time to process the issue causing the block. It's usually a matter of making a decision about how a certain scene or plot point will unfold. I turn my attention to physical tasks like household chores, walking, driving, etc. (Things I can pretty much do on autopilot.) If I'm still struggling, I go back to my outline or talk to my friends about it.
