Vicky Ramakka I'm a slow reader, so my reading list may not look too ambitious. But I hope to enjoy at least these three books:
Craig Childs' Tracing Time about rock art on the Colorado Plateau because rock art made by long-ago residents fascinates me.
Scott Graham's Canyonlands Carnage because it has everything I like in a book—national parks, mystery, and archaeology.
And I'm really looking forward to spending time with Anne Hillerman's most recent novel, The Sacred Bridge, because, well, it's a Hillerman book so I know it is good, and I like to follow the Bernadette Manuelito character as she progresses in her career with the Navajo Nation Police Department.
Vicky Ramakka I'm working on a sequel to The Cactus Plot. The heroine, botanist Millie Whitehall, will be back, this time working with an archaeologist. They are documenting an abandoned homestead in northwest New Mexico. Millie learns two murders have occurred at the site, nearly a hundred years apart. Again, Millie's quick mind and knowledge of plant ecology helps to shed light on both grisly crimes. Readers of The Cactus Plot will recognize some favorite characters and meet some surprising new ones.
