Lyla El-Fayomi I never force it. I'll take some time away and focus on other things, if I must. Even just having an idea partner to discuss plot with can be helpful. I think my output is best as a writer when I allow the inspiration to come naturally.
Lyla El-Fayomi Being a writer is wonderful for many of the same reasons that we love being readers. You explore fantastical or foreign worlds, live the ups and downs of a compelling character, dive into a philosophical question, and learn something new. The only difference is that as a writer, you’re driving the car rather than enjoying the ride from the passenger’s seat. You become the one shaping a personality or concocting the next twist – it’s like being awake while you dream. The possibilities are endless.

When I woke up, I realized that there could be something there, so I sat down and gave the story a chance. It ended up taking on a life of its own from there! 6 years of development later, and Terminum was born.
