Jeannie van Rompaey I would like to go to Morocco. It's quite near where I live in the Cnary Islands. I think it would be a very different experience and give me a different perspective.
Jeannie van Rompaey I'm currently reading An American Marriage by Tayari Jones and enjoying it.
Jeannie van Rompaey I have a picture over my desk of a three-headed man, which I painted several years ago. It inspired me to create the character of three-headed Ra and I wrote a short story about him. I became interested in these characters with mutations and decided I wanted to go on writing about them. The short story became the beginning of a novel and has formed the basis of my latest two books, Ascension and Evolution and for the third novel in the Oasis series, Renaissance, now begin written.
Jeannie van Rompaey I leave my computer and go out for a walk by the Atlantic ocean. As I am lucky enough to live in Gran Canaria this is a pleasure for me. I can watch the waves and clear my mind. Sometimes an idea will come when I least expect it.

Jeannie van Rompaey Begin with an empty page and write freely, let the words and phrases flow. Some ideas might come out of this and you can go back and edit later. The main thing is to let those creative juices run. Write everyday.

Jeannie van Rompaey I think of myself as litmus paper, absorbing everything I see and hear. This applies to quite ordinary things in my every day life in the street, in shops and bars as well as keeping up with current affairs on TV or in newspapers. I also use ideas from my dreams.
