I recently had a bout with writer's block. No matter what I tried, the words wouldn't flow. Funny thing - a coworker made me mad over something silly and I wrote 5k words the very next day. Maybe being able to feel your emotions can be a big help factor.

I love creating worlds and characters. That's the fantasy lover in me. Going to the conferences are a trip too. If you haven't gone to one, you should really check one out soon.

A song can spark me off or just reading about an incident in a newspaper article. Road Salt was inspired by my son's drug counselor when I saw her appear on the Sunday news one morning when she was trying to get the word out about how dangerous the designer drug Bath Salts was.

A good writer friend of mine talked me into attending my first RWA meeting a couple of years ago. She said, "Linda, you're going to love this group of ladies."
After attending that meeting, I knew she was right. I had to finish writing the YA Contemporary series, Wings From Ashes. With all the trouble I had gotten my main character in, her life was going down hill fast. I needed a way to make her find a happy ending. Neil came along and encouraged her to make things right in her life.
