Hi John,
My first book was published in 2011, but I started writing my first real story in fifth grade. I had read all the Nancy Drew Mysteries and wanted to write one of my one. I wrote a few things in high school and college, poems and such. I started writing The Bench in 2009 and it was published in 2011. I have just released my sixth book, Misty Winter, as the third book in my Misty series. Thanks so much for your question!

If I could travel through time and Dimension I might want to travel to a magical land. I've always loved fun, light, magic. I wouldn't want to experience dark magic, but fun things like Cinderella's fairy Godmother or the Good Witch in the Wizard of Oz. I would like to spread peace, love and smiles.

My favorite fictional couple is probably Mr. And Mrs. Jonathan Hart. A lot of people probably do not remember that Jennifer Hart was a freelance writer and he was a self made millionaire. They were always solving murders and crimes. Yes, on a certain level they were a bit superficial with the "Darling" thing in every other line of dialogue, but they had some decent mysteries. I also liked Max the Butler and Freeway the dog.

Hi Robert - sent friend request - thanks. I have to check out the other books you mentioned. The book I am reading is about a cowboy named Tully Mars but I wonder if this book is a psuedo memoir. Certainly connects with many of his lyrics. Have a great weekend!

Being a writer allows you to express your creativity and inspiration in your own way - There is nothing more exciting than "being in the zone." When all around you disappears and you find yourself inside the world you have created, a feeling of excitement and escape surround you to the point you feel you have achieved the ultimate mind travel.

I have to change to another form of creativity. My favorite choice is going to the movies. I watch something totally outside my genre and I usually am renewed. At the minimum, I put my project to the side for a day or two and come back with a fresh perspective.

Keep writing - every day. Continue reading, writing and then editing. It takes years to become a brain surgeon and writing is similar. Join a writer's group, attend public readings. Go to a writer's conference and connect with other writers. Don't start editing until after you've written a complete first draft. Fine wine, scotch and cheese take time to flavor and so does writing. Don't get discouraged, just keep writing!

I'm currently working on a new mystery that takes place in New Jersey. My new book is not part of the Rocky Meadow Series, but characters can visit from time to time.
