In My National Park Backyard is my first book. My ideas for this book came from my childhood experiences living inside of 6 U.S. National Parks. I always wanted to write a children's book, but wasn't quite sure where to start. But with some inspiration from Pat Cummings, I thought why not! Since I'm a teacher, I wanted readers to learn about each of my beloved parks in a fun, imaginative way. The people in the book come from people I knew from childhood, or interesting historical characters I learned about. The unique characteristics of each park are ones I find most interesting. Hopefully, readers close IMNPB's covers and think they've learned about a really neat place to add to their travel bucket list.
