There are two things that are most important for aspiring writers. First, don't let the word "no" stop you. One of the most common words in the publishing industry is "no;" be prepared to hear it a lot. Get used to it and keep writing.
Speaking of writing, the other piece of advice is to carve out some part of your day to write. It doesn't matter if it is only 15 minutes; you need to write every day! If you want to be a writer, then write!
