Angela Kalnins When writing my first book, I was inspired as I read from my own Bible and did my own journaling. Each time I experienced something in my life or found a scripture that MOVED me and and made me FEEL something--joy, sadness, exhilaration or even hate. I was inspired to share the story of that emotion and why the Bible helped me to get through it. I do a lot of research on each scripture as I write. So, writing JESUS LOVES US EVEN THOUGH... helped me go a long way in my own study and on my own faith journey.

I hope others are inspired by what I share when I write.
Angela Kalnins I'm writing a new Bible Study Guide for women. It's the first one I've ever attempted. HOPING and PRAYING it will serve someone--many someones--well. If all I can do is help one person move closer to God...well, that's good enough for me!
Angela Kalnins Don't stop.
I wrote my first short story when I was 12 or so... I didn't publish my first book until I was 50! It was released on my birthday!

I can't tell you how many times I wanted to quit, to give up. Rejection letters are the worst!! But I didn't stop. Neither should you. Keep trying, keep pushing, keep writing! No matter what!
Angela Kalnins I think for me, the best part about being a writer is being able to share with others my love of God and my faith in Him and His works. He's given me the tools to share those things with humor and genuine truth and I'm told that people like to read what He and I write together.

AND...I'm human enough to admit I love it when someone says, "I really like your book!"
Angela Kalnins Badly.
Unfortunately, it happens to me a lot. I write Christian devotionals and studies. Sometimes, I find myself asking...myself...if what I'm writing is coming from my brain or God's heart. I would prefer the answer to be God's heart--I like to think of myself as His typist. When I find that I can't decide whether I'm writing for Him or me...I freeze. I can't continue until I know for sure. Sometimes, to be honest, it's debilitating.

However, more often than not, God finds a way to let me know whether or not what I'm *attempting* to write is something he wants me to finish. If it is...it's gets finished.

If it's not...well, I have a whole file folder of unfinished and uncompleted work.
Angela Kalnins My book, JESUS LOVES US EVEN THOUGH..., started out as a journal about, or maybe it might be easier to say a list of, my favorite Bible scriptures. Each entry included a reason for listing the particular scripture I liked...sometimes these "reasons" became more like stories. I wanted Lizzie, my grand-daughter, to understand my faith and why I'm so devoted to God.

I showed the journal to a friend who said, "This should be a book"...and there ya go. :)
