Francisco Xavier Alcalá Navarro, máis coñecido como Xavier Alcalá, nado en Miguelturra (Cidade Real) o 19 de agosto de 1947, é un escritor galego.

Viviu en Ferrol dende a infancia, e estudou no Instituto Concepción Arenal desa vila. Estudou Enxeñaría de Telecomunicacións na Escola Técnica Superior de Enxeñaría e Sistemas de Telecomunicación da Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Doutorouse en Informática no Departamento de Electrónica e Sistemas da Facultade de Informática da Universidade da Coruña. Foi profesor asociado de dita facultade, e impartiu docencia tamén na Facultade de Xornalismo da Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, a Universidade Católica Arxentina e a Escola de Organización Industrial de Madrid.
