4 Books from Faraway Places
Below please find the link to my latest Recent Reading page, where I talk a bit about 3 novels and one very essential "non" novel, the all-too-real memoir by Fawzia Koofi, one of the very few women Members of Parliament in Afghanistan. Also, so thoughts on "Malarky" by Anakana Schofield, "The Girl in the Box" by Sheila Dalton, and "Reading by Lightening" by Joan Thomas:

I'd love comments and any other views.
Thanks,

Recent Reading "Fossils" in Historical Fiction
Below is the link to my latest "Recent Reading" discussion -- involving "Curiosity" by Joan Thomas and "Remarkable Creatures" by Tracey Chevalier -- two fascinating novels that raise interesting questions about "making fiction out of fact".
I'd love to hear the thoughts of others about this; do comment if you feel inclined.

Tuscan Recipes by a "Fictional" Character
It's hard to hold Marta Dottorelli down. She swears she is not fictional, and has set out to prove it by barging onto my website and posting Tuscan recipes along with "anti-author" rants -- and here's the thing: I'm starting to wonder how "fictional" she is:
I'll give her this: Real or not, she knows a lot about life in the hills of Tuscany, and about the local food.

Nettle Soup and other prickly things
I have just been invited into GoodReads by Holley Rubinsky, author of the wonderful recently published collection, "South of Elfrida".
I don't quite know what I'm up to, blog-wise, but I will start by posting the link to a "quasi-blog" elsewhere, on my website, where one of the characters in my recent novel THE WHIRLING GIRL got out of hand and has started posting Tuscan recipes, along with "anti-author comments".
In an ongoing way, I'll bring you up to date on further additions to her site: the recipes are delicious; though you must not believe a word she has to say about "the author" (me).
For now, here's the link to:
MARTA DOTTORELLI'S NETTLE SOUP:
