Adrift

When it's dark
And the world sleepsMy dreams are the samePanicked and lostAdrift at sea... aloneThe sunset's reflection Paints the water apricotSo rich in colour I can smell itThat lovely scentI smile and relaxLose myself in itKnowing I am safeIt's your hair in my faceAnd the lovely smellOf your apricot shampooI needn't worryFor you are close

Don't Forget Me - 6

'Okay Henry. Get a grip.

Get your head on straight.

It's possible to fix this.

Let's hope it's not too late.

The plan was to go back in time

And do it all again;

Experience the best of us

Just like we did back then.

This should have been a simple plan:

Go back to before,

Marry her all over again

And enjoy the next two score.

Of course you got distracted;

She's pretty as a peach.

You came on way too strong, though --

Now she's beyond your reach.

She even socked you in the face

(at this, a loving grin),

But now our love has been erased,

And you can tell, within.

Your memories are fading fast

As details start to blur;

You've got to fix this crazy mess

before you forget her.'

He's got to go back to that day,

And stop his other self

From overwhelming Laura Jean

(Dangerous for his health).

He jumps back in the time machine,

Hits the switch once more,

Slowly falls asleep, and wakes up

Forty years before.

He sees her 50 yards away,

Arms folded, eyebrows cross,

And then he sees her pretty face

and Henry's at a loss.

And, distracted, he can't see

His past self bearing down,

Hissing, "What are you doing here?

Get out of sight, you clown!"

'My Juliet', 4 : 17

Walking in the emergency room,

Poet's almost knocked right off his shoes;

Codes on intercoms spell certain doom,

While he tries to get back to his muse.

The closer he gets to his lover's door,

The harder that it gets to go inside

(That intercom has such a dreadful roar);

He wants to yell, but swallows all his pride.

The world becomes noisy and confused

(He realizes the chaos is for her),

"Code Blue" is something very seldom used,

Not a code that any would prefer.

He barely hears the girl with pink scrubs on;

'I'm sorry, sir. Her liver failed.

She's gone.'

'My Juliet', 4 : 16

He takes a walk to clear his troubled mind,

And figure out where to go from here;

He knows he's got to reach within and find

Some way to help the soul he holds so dear.

Firstly, he's got to apologize.

He knows he screwed up -- no denying that,

It took so long to open up his eyes,

And see what he should have been looking at.

Finally, he's put his words together:

____, I'm so sorry. Please don't yell;

I want us to be happy forever,

Through every happiness, and every hell.

And with that, having got his head on straight,

Poet returns to his weakened mate.

'My Juliet', 4 : 15

Sitting in the waiting room once more(This time unaccompanied by a guard),Poet dwells on moments right before,Wondering how his skull could be so hard.
'She counted on you, Mr. Troubador. She gave you all the pleasures you desired, And when she couldn't do it anymore,You complained? No wonder you were fired.'
Obviously his thoughts are unfair,But that does not require they be wrong. '____ loves you, and she needs you there,Though her sickness screams a different song.
If this is not how you would see things end,Get the hell in there and be her friend.'

Sanctum

In the sanctum of our passion

She waits ever patiently

Knowing I can't stay away

She is my tranquility

Every stress is long forgot

In the comfort of her kiss

Every worry, every thought

Drowned in our euphoric bliss

Safe and free, this little place

Where in her I do confide

She will smile and touch my face

Grip my love, take me inside

Bodies writhing in the sheets

Moans and sighs her symphony

Our climax takes us, then repeats

Perfect synchronicity

Dimly lit and not too loud

Raindrops fall on windowpanes

Perfect place to drowse with her

When the passion finally wanes

In the sanctum of our passion

She waits ever patiently

Knowing I can't stay away

She is my tranquility

'My Juliet', 4 : 14

For a moment, Poet's rendered numb;

He wants to talk it out, but what's to say?

He can't just sit and watch his love succumb

To the poison rotting her away.

He sees now that he's been a total fool.

He didn't want to deal with her disease;

Now, knowing she feels like a ghoul,

He whispers in the darkness, '_____, please...'

'No, I said,' She hisses through her teeth.

(In between her body's coughing spasms).

'But if you cannot keep it in its sheath,

I'm sure a nurse can give you your orgasms.'

Stung (she's never been this way before),

Poet turns, and walks straight out the door.

'My Juliet', 4 : 13

'Let's do something with that mess of hair,'

She mutters low, with daggers in her eyes.

'Shove your hairbrush -- I no longer care

For keeping up this stupid, pointless guise.'

I'm dying, Poet. Don't -- I swear I'll scream.

My entire life is misery and pain.

My name's ____. Juliet's a dream.

Don't you ever call me that again.

'Julie-- er, _____, I didn't mean

To hurt your feelings -- my apologies;

I didn't realize how bad it's been.'

'You didn't ask!" She screams through coughing wheeze.

'It's pretty clear I'm in this on my own,

So you should go. Leave me the hell alone.'

Leash

Eternally boundPassion like a fireAnchored to the groundSlave to her desireEvery smiling glanceEvery little grinEvery move a danceSmouldering again
Savage, primal mindOverwhelmind needUnder, o'er, behindYearning to be freedShe bids me be stillSoothes her savage beast At least, that is, untilShe allows me to feast
Goddess holds my lustThough the leash will frayBut I hold her trustAnd so I shall obey
She who owns my soulLets me guard her heartKeeps me in controlMy perfect work of artAll that I can takeNot to claim her herePassion has an acheThat'll never disappear
Tonight a single wordFrom her perfect lipsPassions undeterredFire in my hipsEvery muscle tautBreathing hard and deepBodies slick and hotCollapsing in a heap
Goddess holds my lustUntil the leash should snapWhereupon I mustDevour every scrap

'My Juliet', 4 : 12

She awakens in the darkness dizzy, weak;

Confused and nauseated, yet again.

Tears and frozen sweat roll down her cheek,

Near resigned to circling the drain.

Her energy's not what it used to be;

Often she's too weak to leave the bed.

Wiped out by the chemotherapy,

She missed whatever thing Poet just said.

'I said get up, Juliet -- don't give up now.

I've laid out all the clothes that you should wear,

Your health is not something to disavow,

And let's do something with that mess of hair.'

And finally, Juliet's self-control corrodes,

And to Poet's surprise, his muse explodes.
