Springing into Action

Changes continue in the worlds of Outrageous Fiction, as we transition our serials from Wordpress to Ream.

Admittedly, no one will ever accuse of being fast (I am, in fact, the Baymax of authors), but we are steady.

Now on Ream we have posted Fortune and Glory up to chapter five for followers (remember, it's free to follow). Fortune's Architects is up to chapter 4, and we've recently posted the prologue to The Scorpio Sting (Book 3 of The Zodiac Files).

We've also got some fun extras, deleted scenes, and our dream actor for the character Horatio Alva.

Feel free to stopy by our Outrageous Crew Quarters at any time. The community is delightful and the more the merrier!

Winter Read-a-away

Still packing (move out date is 12/28), but should you be looking for a new book to read in front of a crackling fire (or crackling Youtube video of a fire), here's a wild collection of spec fiction tales to download via Bookfunnel: Adventures into High Strangenesst

This may be it until ee're in the new house so, just in case, hope everyone has a smashing rest of the month, and some genuinely peaceful reading time.

Best,
Kathleen

November 29, 2023

It's been a hot minute!

And there's been a lot happening-starting with both Outrageous Fiction and I (Kathleen) finding new homes at the same time!

What does that mean?

Well, for me it means packing up and moving from Texas to Wisconsin (we're moving the last week of December which, okay maybe a little out there but, the house is worth it).

For Outrageous Fiction, things were a lot easier.

All I had to do was create our Ream Page (Outrageous Crew - very on-brand), and set up a new serial platform for us to continue writing our stories. This way we can feed the serial readers and still publish for the ebook and print fans (as we did with The Libra Gambit and The Crew Who Came in from the Cold).

So now, instead of posting to Wordpress and linking to Buy Me a Coffee, we will be hosting all the goods on our Outrageous Crew page.

Here, followers can find and interact with our community via posts and polls, read snippets of works in progress, get the occasional world building element.

We were doing something similar on the Wordpress site but it was rather clunky and unrewarding, and a few bots had parked on our site, so finding a place that really bridges the gap between readers and authors, and is easy to navigate, has been a gift.

Please give us a visit, and follow (it's free!) Outrageous Crew so you can see what we've been up to, which includes a new recipe from MacGuffin's, the first chapter of Fortune and Glory, AND a vote for our Outrageous Crew motto!

And now, it's back to packing for me (seriously spent two hours on my office and have exactly five boxes packed-it's gonna be a long month).

Throwback Thursday: Ghost Magnet

Reading Time: 3 minutes Throwback Thursday: Ghost Magnet Another Throwback Thursday, this time celebrating the "Going Wide" of a my favorite urban fantasy/detective romp, Lori Drake's haunting, riveting, and sometimes nail-biting, Ghost Magnet. One of the things I love about Ghost Magnet is that the protagonist made his first appearance as a sort of guest star in Lori's Grant …

Legends of Tomorrow, Timelines, and Outrageous Fiction

Reading Time: 4 minutes So what does the cancelled (too soon!) Legends of Tomorrow have to do with Outrageous Fiction? Well, thereby hangs a (very meta) tale. First, for those who haven't ever seen the Arrowverse's Legends of Tomorrow, I recommend watching it, as it is still streaming on Netflix. (Season one is optional viewing, as it was the weakest …
