Excited...and Scared!
Now's the moment I always love and dread...the pub date. The Hamilton Affair comes out officially on August 2. Like a debutante ball, it's an exhilarating but terrifying occasion. Wish me luck with the critics!

Professional historians are comfortable in obscurity. It's where we hang out.
So imagine that the subject of your latest book becomes...a musical! THE musical of the year, decade, 21st Century. I'm thrilled that Lin-Manuel Miranda has introduced the world to Alexander Hamilton. What a fun coincidence. Little did I imagine this four years ago, when I hunched in the prison cubicle on St. Croix that once trapped Hamilton's mother, Rachel Lavien.
It's wonderful to me that so many people now share my fascination with this remarkable man who shaped America--and his unforgettable wife and partner, Eliza Schuyler. It's an honor to publish THE HAMILTON AFFAIR with Arcade.
