Happy Leap Year!
It's Oscar night, which is a big night in my house. We are crazy movie-geeks and have spent the weekend cramming in the last couple of best picture nominations. I am all about hearing Brie Larson's acceptance speech.
What I am reading: 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl. This book is gutting me, in a good way. It is raw, honest, brutal at times, funny at times, tender at times. I'm totally in awe of Mona Awad.
What I am listening to: Songs for Beginners by Graham Nash. This record came out a month after I was born, but I just heard it for the first time last month. The song Simple Man was the last song played on the last episode of the HBO show Looking, and I immediately fell in love. It's the kind of song that breaks your heart open, and makes you feel sad and soft and hopeful all at the same time.
In the kitchen: Grapenut pudding! I have many opportunities to make traditional New England desserts where I work, and this is one of my favorites. Here is a picture:

Book news: My ARCS arrived! They are beautiful! It is impossible to describe what it is like to see your first novel in book form for the first time. See description of how Simple Man (above) makes me feel. It's a little like that.

Random cheer: I am totally late to the Mr. Robot game, but man, I have become completely obsessed. It's such good writing, and I love that little hacker.
