December Update

Happy Holidays!   December is here and thank goodness! Because November was a horrible writing month for me. There is no sense is sugar-coating it. I got very little done after the first week. It wasn’t all bad, though. Writing Rage of the Dead was very inspiring for me. It was the fastest I’d ever...

November News & New Release

It’s finally here! Rage Of The Dead just released this morning & hopefully you’ve already snagged a copy and are enjoying reading it. It’s also a pretty special day here, because my youngest daughter turned four today & the book is dedicated to her. So today is mostly just a day to take a break...

A Peaceful Town

Mondays are always the worst, but today, everything is going wrong. I’m sitting in gridlock when I realize that the clocks are still set for the wrong time. I always leave it to Blake to change them and he forgot, just like every other thing I ask him to do. I tried calling to make...

Patreon

SOMETHING STRANGE IS HAPPENING HERE   In case you haven’t heard, I’ve started developing a classified Patreon page for superfans overflowing with new [redacted] and also more [redacted] than you ever thought possible. But be warned, this is not something for the faint of heart. There might just be too much [redacted] for you to...

Tuesday Tunes – Ratatat

Ratatat is another one of my favorite bands to write to. They’re an instrumental band, which is always a plus because I sometimes have a hard time focusing when there is a singer and the lyrics are grabbing my attention too much. I always find much more luck getting into my writing when there aren’t any vocals, or at least any I can understand.

Their songs are generally upbeat, but mellow. Great to keep me motivated to write, but not overbearing so much that I want to close the computer dance...

Weekly Writing Wrap-up 8/31/18

This week was a slow week for writing new words as I have started working on editing Rage of the Dead. I did manage to get about 4500 words down to start ROTD 4, I actually added about 1000 words for what will be ROTD 5 as well, and about 2500 words for book one of a new series I’ve been working on, which, for now, I’m calling book one The Cadre.

As most of my time this month will be centered on getting ROTD 3 ready for release, I’m definitely anticipating that this will be pretty average...

Tuesday Tunes – Tame Impala

This band, and particularly, this song, are simply amazing. Tame Impala has become one of my favorite artists to listen to while writing. Their sound is catchy while complex, chill while still rocking, and I think they’re fronted by one of the most brilliant musicians in the world right now.

Whenever I am having trouble getting motivated, I put some of their songs on and it is like magic. Ideas just start coming and words just suddenly begin to appear.

While I could go on for them all day, ju...

Weekly Writing Wrap-up 8/24/18

I’m a few days late with an update for the week since I was travelling over the weekend and used every minute I had to write instead of posting because I’m pretty determined to keep reaching a modest writing goal every single day.

Last week was huge though. I finally penned the last sentence on Rage of the Dead which has shaped up to be a solid story. I am still not sure how this compares to the previous two books, as it is much different, but still is an important instalment in the series. T...

Tuesday Tunes – Generationals

This is another band that takes up a good chunk of my writing music playlist. I discovered them about five or six years ago, and since then have heard them in countless indie movie soundtracks. We have a joke in our house that it isn’t actually an indie film unless it has a song by Generationals in it.

They’ve got a very catchy lo-fi sound that is good for those days when I’m feeling a little stressed about my work in progress and need something more low-key but upbeat. This video a live ac...

Nightmare Company

As we get close to the release of ROTD 3, once again I’m putting out a call for you guys to join the elite team of readers that will get early access to the ROTD books and all my other stories to help them be all that they can be come launch day.

Of course, there will also be fun. Discussion about the stories, the characters, your chance to say what or who you’re rooting for and who you want to see eat it (or get eaten). I’ll also be having some giveaways for advanced readers as a thank you f...
