Saadiq
A few hours after the incident
"So what you’re telling us is that it was a ghost driving the vehicle? The detective asked me.
“Y’all muthafuckas tryna be funny. Hell nah it wasn’t no ghost.”
“Who was it then? When we got there is was only you and Jon-Jon on the scene. We know it wasn’t him driving because he was underneath the truck. Unless you can tell me that it was someone else there, then all the evidence points to you,” the ball headed, fat sloppy white detective said. I released a deep breath in frustration. Even though Brisham left me to deal with this shit, I still couldn’t bring myself to snitch on my cousin. I was stalling these muthafuckas out while waiting to see if Brisham would turn himself in. I don’t know how long I had been here, but I figured it was a few hours. My throat was dry, my body felt weak, and I was exhausted.
“Saadiq, this isn’t looking too good for you. Right now you’re not giving us nothing; you’ve refused to take a sobriety test, and I feel that you’re lying about what happened tonight. At this point I feel that we should just lock your ass up since you don't wanna cooperate,” the black detective that was with him shouted.
“Man, do what the fuck y’all wanna do because I’m done talking to y’all. Matter fact I want my phone call, and I want a lawyer.” They both ice grilled my ass before turning to each other. “Alright then fuck it. He’s gonna go down for this anyway.”
"Yeah you're right. That's actually better for us. Now we won't have to deal with his black ass. I can go home to my family." The white detective said to the black one. I shook my head as I sat back in my seat.
"Racist muthafucka," I mumbled. "And yo Uncle Tom ass dumb as fuck for working with this bitch." I snarled at the black officer. He slammed his hand on the table. "Shut the fuck up! I will k..."
"Whoa, calm down there." The white officer patted the black officer's chest."Yeah house nigga, calm yo ass down," I grumbled. That time he just looked at me and frowned.“Alright Saadiq, have it your way.” The white detective told me. They both stood up and ambled out of the interrogation room.
“Fuck,” I gritted as I put my head in my hands. This shit could not be happening, I thought. Just a few hours ago I was enjoying my family and making plans to start a new life. Now I was stuck in this bitch wondering what the future held for me. I should have listened to Gee when he told me something was up with Brisham. Maybe my boy would still be here if I would’ve listened. Suddenly, the door opened and in waltzed the last person I expected to see. “Uncle Cordea. I told these muthafuckas this shit wasn’t on me, but they won’t believe me,” I said.
"What are you talking about, what wasn’t on you?” He looked at me strangely.
“I didn’t wreck that truck man.” “Listen Saadiq, I understand that this is all scary for you. Jon-Jon was one of your close friends, so you feel bad about killing him. However lying isn’t gonna help you out of this,” he stated. I frowned as I stared at him. This nigga wasn’t even try to ask me what happened. Right off he was telling me that I’d done it without getting the full story.
“You ain’t hearing me Unk. I didn’t do this shit and I ain’t confessing to shit,” I barked. My uncle pulled out one of the chairs and brought it around to my side of the table. He faced it towards him before sitting on it. “I want you to hear me out. If you do not tell them the truth they will give you life without parole. This is a serious situation, and I need you to start treating it as such. The judge ain't gon' give you another slap on the wrist like they did when you were younger. Someone’s  life was taken tonight. Do you hear me?”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” I frowned.“I’m saying, come clean and tell them that you made a mistake. The judge will show leniency if he sees that you’re remorseful.”
“But I didn’t do this shit. It was your fuckin…”
“Shut the fuck up,” My uncle leaned towards me and gritted. I lifted my eyebrow as I glared at him. It was then I realized what the fuck was going on. Apparently Brisham had gone to his daddy and told him what happened, and now I had this eerie feeling they were gonna get me to take the fall for this shit.
I shook my head. “He told you huh?” I finally asked.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Him who?” He smirked.“You know exactly who he is,” I whispered angrily.“I don't know what you're talking about. I just got a call that someone had been killed during a DUI. When I came in I saw that the driver was you, and the victim was Jon-Jon. I spoke with my officers and they informed me that you weren’t cooperating. I figured I would try to offer you some advice.” As I bit the inside of my jaw, I shot daggers at my uncle’s bitch ass.
“Get me a fuckin’ lawyer nigga, and I want my phone call,” I bellowed.
“Alright you’ll get your phone call, but first I want to make sure that you understand me. Take your time like a real man. Like I mentioned earlier you’ll be out before you know it. There will still be time for you to box and do whatever else you wanna do. If you try to fight it, then you’re only gonna make it harder for yourself and those around you. I’m sure you don’t want Talya and Jenny suffering from your mistakes, do you?” My uncle looked me dead in the eyes as he spoke. I didn’t need him to spell this shit out any clearer for me, because I got exactly what he was saying.
“I want my phone call.” I repeated. My uncle nodded while standing. He stepped over to me and grabbed my shoulder.
“Don’t worry I’ll make sure that your books are taken care of, and I’ll keep my eye on your family too.”
That was it, I had lost any lil bit of restraint I’d been holding on to. I jumped out of my seat and hit my uncle with a mean ass two piece. He went flying backwards like he was falling off a cliff. The two detectives ran into the room and immediately hemmed me up. They threw me into the wall while forcefully gripping my hands behind my back. “That’s another charge. You just keep digging yourself further into a hole,” the black detective gritted as he roughly threw the handcuffs on me.
“Fuck all y’all muthafuckas!” I boomed with spittle flying from my mouth. At that moment I didn’t give a damn about shit. My life was ruined and it was all Brisham’s fault. I didn’t have shit else to lose. As the detective started to walk me out of the holding room, my uncle called out to him.
“Hansen.”
“Yes Chief?”
“Let’s forget about this incident. Right now my nephew is just frustrated. He’s lost his best friend, his career, and now his freedom all in one night. I should have been more understanding when he asked me for his phone call, but I just wanted him to understand that he needed to tell the truth. Trust me when I say that this is not his usual behavior. I’m sure he’s gonna do the right thing by telling you guys everything that transpired. Right Saadiq?” My uncle questioned. I glared at that nigga with foam damn near leaking from my mouth. As much as I wanted to expose my uncle for this bogus ass shit, I knew that I couldn’t do that. At this point it was my word against him and his punk ass son.
“Yeah I’ll tell you the truth,” I finally spat. My uncle winked at me while holding his busted lip. “Well sit your ass down and start talking,” the detective ordered while pushing me back towards the table.

New Release

Love in The Ring - Round 1

Sneak Peek

Kiana

The next Day

“So we still going out tonight right?” I asked Jacobi. He was this young hustler that I had been messing around with for about a year now. We met at this Urban store where I worked called Fresh Image. He came in with his girlfriend to do some shopping. While she wasn’t looking he asked me for my number. I gave it to him because I didn’t care about him having a girl.

“Ion know I’mma have to see. Ol’ girl been tripping about me not putting in time. I might have to give it to her tonight.” I sighed. Jacobi looked up at me as he finished rolling his blunt.

“C’mon now you ain’t about to start trippin’ are you? No matter what, she comes first,” he said slightly crushing my feelings.

“I know, that’s why I’m not trippin. I understand that your girl comes first,” I stated sarcastically. If she was all that important to him then why every chance he got did his ass find a way to get around to me? Standing up from the bed I started to snatch my stuff up.

“What’s wrong with you,” he questioned.

“Nothing,” I lied as I started getting dressed.

“You crazy.” Jacobi chuckled. I glared at him wanting to slap the shit out of his ass. That was his problem. He didn’t take me seriously. Jacobi had picked me up from work earlier and brought me back to one of the houses that he did business out of. We couldn’t go to his place because he lived with his girlfriend. Just like any other time we were together he put that good dick in me and had my ass going crazy. But as soon as we were finished he was talking about dropping me off. It was cool being with Jacobi because we had fun together and he stayed dropping off cash. The only problem with our situation is that, I was honestly getting tired of playing the background. I was starting to want more than just to be somebody’s fuck toy. Over the past year that we had been messing around I’d developed some strong feelings for Jacobi. I wanted us to be in a relationship. At times I felt that’s what he wanted too, but at other times I just didn’t know. He was always giving me mixed signals.

“You ready to go?” Jacobi asked.
“Yup,” I muttered. My attitude was on a thousand right then. Jacobi walked over and put his arm around my neck.

“Quit tripping man. I’mma take you out soon,” he claimed. I heard this shit before, I thought.

“When Jacobi? You been saying that shit for the longest. If you ain’t got time for me then maybe we just need to take a step back,” I spat.

“Quit playing with me Kiana. What you think you about to give another nigga my pussy,” he asked putting his hand in between my legs. I slapped it away.

“Is that all you see me as?”
“Huh…what, you trippin’ man,” Jacobi laughed but he didn’t answer my question. I shook my head as I glared at him. “Look I don’t know why you acting like this when you knew what my situation was from the beginning. Why you turning this into something that it ain’t gotta be?” He asked. I moved his arm from around my neck and put my back to him. “Oh so now you don’t here me talking to you?” Jacobi gripped my shoulder and forced me to look at him.

“What the fuck is you crying for?” He asked sounding agitated.

“Because,” I spat. Jacobi released a frustrated sigh.

“C’mon now shawty this shit is supposed to be fun. You doing all this extra shit. I go through this with my girl, I don’t wanna deal with it from you too,” he seethed.

“Yeah it was all fun Jacobi before you decided to get me pregnant,” I blurted out. Jacobi took a step back and stared at me.

“What…you pregnant?” He asked in disbelief.

“Yeah I am. I went to the doctor the other day and they confirmed that I’m eight weeks pregnant,” I told him. I didn’t intend to tell him like this but oh well, fuck it. I had already let it out.

“Damn for real, you serious.” His face had shock written all over it.

“Serious as hell. Now you see why this ain’t no fun for me anymore. You wanted to treat this all as a game but you around here making real life situations happen. I told you that we should keep using the condoms but you didn’t wanna hear that. Now that I’m carrying your baby what are you gonna do?” I asked. Jacobi stared at me for a while and then he finally started to speak again.

“Look Ion know if we ready for all this. I’m still out here busting moves in these streets. You don’t even have a car or your own place,” he mentioned, and I lost it. I started to hit him wherever my fist would land. I was letting all my frustrations out on his ass.

“Hey girl, chill the fuck out,” he barked while grabbing my hands.

“Nigga are you saying that you want me to kill my child?” I gritted. I struggled with him to get my hands free but he wouldn’t release the hold that he had on them.

“Calm down Kiana. Ain’t nobody said shit like that.”

“I’m not stupid muthafucka. I know how to read in between the lines,” I shouted. As I glared at him my chest heaved up and down. He made me work up a sweat.

“Look, let’s just both calm down. Right now neither one of us is thinking straight. This just caught me off guard. Aight.” He tried to grab me but I pushed him away. “You cool?”

I nodded my head. “Yeah I’m cool. Just hurry up and take me home,” I demanded. I was getting so tired of this shit and on top of that my feelings were hurt.

“Aight I’ll take you home. We can discuss this further in the car,” he said.

“Whatever,” I grumbled as I stormed out of the house. Jacobi was right behind me asking me what was wrong as if he didn’t know why I was mad.

“I don’t have time for these games Jacobi. If this the type of shit you’re gonna be on then just don’t worry about it. I’ll figure it out myself. ‘Cause trust and believe there are niggas out there who don’t mind playing stepdaddy,” I spat. Before I knew what was happening Jacobi ran around to my side and hemmed me up against the car. He wrapped his hands around my neck and applied pressure.

“Get the fuck off me,” I struggled to say.

“What the fuck you mean somebody can play stepdaddy? You think I’mma let somebody else raise my seed? Huh?” He gritted.

“Get off me.” I pushed him back.
“Keep playing with me Kiana. That’s the second time you don’ let some slick shit fall out your mouth about another nigga. Next time I’mma put my foot in your ass,” he threatened. The nerve of this nigga.

I was just about to fire back with a response when the sounds of tires screeching stopped me. Quickly glancing towards the street I noticed a white Toyota swoop in front of the trap house and block his car in. The door flew open and a female jumped out. I squinted my eyes to get a good look at the girl and that’s when I realized that it was Jacobi’s girlfriend. I remembered how she looked from when they came into the store. The girl was short, had a dark complexion and was sort of on the chubby side. Her eyes were big and she wore her hair in a tapered cut. I didn’t understand what he saw in her because she was not that cute. I looked way better than her. “Nigga you got me so fucked up right now. Why the fuck is this bitch at your house?” she spewed while speed walking in our direction. I stood with my hands on my hips smirking just waiting for her to run up on me.

“What you doing here Kris?” Jacobi asked her sounding nervous. The girl didn’t say anything as she continued to walk our way. I thought she was about to try and run up on me but she jumped into Jacobi’s face. She reached her hand up and slapped the shit out of him. I giggled to myself.

“Aye what the fuck is yo problem?” Jacobi grabbed her arms just as she swung again.

“Nigga I told you about fuckin’ playing with me. I had to hear from my people that you riding around with this bitch,” the girl Kris screamed. She was trying her best to knock his head off his shoulders.

“Look it ain’t even what you think. She just came to get some weed from me,” he lied and I shook my head. See this is what killed me about niggas. They could get caught cheating and would still lie as if the woman was dumb. She obviously knew her dude and what he was capable of. Otherwise she wouldn’t be over here right now acting a damn fool.
“You’s a damn lie. Since when do you ride around with your customers? Quit playing with me Jacobi.”

“I’m telling you the truth man,” he continued to lie.

“Let me go right now,” Kris screamed.

“You need to calm down first,” Jacobi said.

“I’mma tell my brother so he can whoop your ass,” she shouted.

“Chill out with that shit Kris. This is between me and you. Ain’t nobody else got no business knowing what’s going on between us,” Jacobi spewed.

“Why the fuck you keep messing with these maggot ass bitches.”

“Maggot?” I repeated and the bitch spun in my direction.

“You heard what the fuck I said. And why the fuck are you still standing there?”

“Trust me honey you don’t want these problems with me,” I told her and laughed sarcastically.

“You think this shit is funny? You won’t be laughing when I beat your ass,” she threatened.

“Yeah I’d like to see that shit. You do not know me, I will drag your ugly ass.” I let her know. She tried to run towards me but Jacobi quickly grabbed her back.

“Kris calm down. I’m not about to let you fight,” Jacobi said.

“Nah, let her ass go so I can see if she gon’ back up all that mouth she got.” At this point I was amped. The thought of me being pregnant wasn’t even on my mind at that moment.
Jacobi ignored me as he tried his best to calm his bitch down. “Kris chill out. I’mma make her leave and then we can go in the house and talk about this shit,” he said and I frowned.

“What the fuck you mean you gonna make me leave? Nigga I ain’t going nowhere. You gonna take me home like you was finna do before she showed up here.

“Bitch he ain’t taking you nowhere.”
“Fuck you, you dog looking bitch,” I spat.
“Kiana just leave,” Jacobi said.
“Fuck you Jacobi! You so full of shit. All you been doing is playing with both of our feelings. But that’s okay. As soon as this baby is born I’mma put that ass on child support,” I said. If looks could kill I would have been a dead bitch right then. Jacobi’s head shot up and he shot daggers at my ass. “Yeah that’s right nigga, I let the cat out of the bag. Honey me and your nigga been fucking for over a year now,” I said.

“Ooh nigga, I should fuck you up. I thought you said she only came to buy some weed from you? I knew yo ass was lying. And what the fuck she mean you got her pregnant?” The bitch said bucking her body. With a tight grip on her, Jacobi looked at me with a scowl on his face.

“Bitch you need to leave right now. I’m not taking you no muthafuckin’ where,” Jacobi bellowed.

“Bitch,” I repeated. He was constantly disrespecting me.

“You heard him bitch. He ain’t taking you nowhere. And when I see you in the streets be ready to throw down ‘cause you got an ass whooping coming your way. You think I don’t remember you from Fresh Image? I knew then that you was checking for my man,” Kris spat.
I ignored her as I focused on Jacobi. “So you tryna make me walk,” I said.

“You heard what I said. Get the fuck out of my yard right now. I’m about to take her in the house and if you not gone by the time I come back out I’mma drag your ass,” Jacobi told me.

“So it’s like that nigga?”

“Fuckin’ right it is. You shouldn’t have opened your mouth. From now on I’mma treat you like the hoe that you are,” he stated coldly. Tears welled in my eyes but I forced myself not to let them fall.

“Stupid ass bitch,” I heard Kris mumble. After that they both turned and headed for the house. A single tear fell from my eye but I swiped that shit away. At that moment I had so much rage built up inside of me. Jacobi had straight carried my ass.

“Jacobi,” I said screaming his name but he never turned around again. I was fuming as I watched them go into the house and slam the door behind them.

“Oh this nigga got me fucked up,” I said aloud. He had another thing coming if he thought I was gonna let him get away with this shit. Spinning on my heels, I headed straight to Jacobi’s all black Lexus and started to kick it repeatedly. The spot where my foot landed instantly dented. I knew Jacobi was gonna be pissed because he loved this car but ask me if I gave a damn. When I’d finally had enough I quickly sprinted down the street to get away from his house. Once I got about a block away is when I finally stopped. Damn near out of breath I scanned the dark trash filled streets. What the hell am I gonna do? I wondered. I lived almost an hour away, nowhere near walking distance. Plus it was late and Jacobi lived in Hyde Park which was a rough ass neighborhood. It was always lurkers roaming around. It wasn’t no way that an Uber was coming over here. There was only one other person for me to call, but I really didn’t want to. It was my auntie who I lived with. She was older so she went to bed early. But at this point I didn’t have no other choice. I definitely wasn’t about to walk so she would just have to be mad. Taking my cell out of my purse I quickly dialed her number and placed the phone to my ear. While waiting for her to answer, I silently prepared myself for the cussing out that I knew she was gonna give me.

Authoress N.L. Hudson (author interview)

Slyce: Brothers and Sistah’s, please welcome our sistah, Author N.L. Hudson to “The Interrogation Room”!! Welcome my sistah :-). Are you ready?Slyce: What inspired you to become an author?Author N.L. HudsonNLH: My husband had been trying for a while to get me to complete a book, but honestly, I didn’t know if I could or not. However, the opportunity presented itself when I went on my maternity leave late, last year. I’m not sure what it was, but something just gave me the courage to go ahead and complete one of the stories that I’d had in my head for a while. Once I finished my manuscript, I contacted several small publishers; all of which I heard back from, except for one. At that point, I prayed about it, talked it over with my husband and the rest of my family, and then I made my decision. The publisher I chose then, is the same one that I’m still with now- Natavia Presents.Slyce: What is the name of your publishing company?NLH: Natavia PresentsSlyce: In what genre do you write?NLH: My stories are Urban, Women’s fiction, Romance with a twist of suspense. They are all considered African American literature.Slyce: Have you penned under another name?NLH: No, I’ve only gone under N.L. Hudson.Slyce: You wrote a book titled, “All I Ever Wanted Was To Stay Down For You”. What was this book about?NLH: This book is a spin-off title of another story I wrote called, “All I Ever Wanted Was A Love Like Yours”. And what it is about are the supporting characters, Micah & Vic. In this book, it shows how they’ve gotten together and are now living their lives after a tumultuous courtship. Micah and Vic are trying their best to keep it together, but there are certain people and situations keeping them from being great together.Slyce: Is this book a stand-alone or a series?NLH: This is a standalone with another possible spin-off.Slyce: How important are interviews?NLH: They are very important for the author to gain exposure.Slyce: How important are reviews?NLH: Reviews help not only the author to recognize the areas in which they may need growth, but they also show others how great the book was, or wasn’t in their opinion.Slyce: What does the term, “Building a Brand” mean?NLH: Getting out and making yourself known to others by way of marketing.Slyce: What steps are you taking to build your brand?NLH:ResearchBook signingsProducts with my nameNetworkingSlyce: Do you feel a new author should have a “Team”?NLH: Yes, I believe a team is very important for a new author.Slyce: What was one of the biggest mistakes you made as a new author?NLH: The biggest that I’ve made is not starting early. Although, the idea of creating a book had been in place for years; I didn’t think out the process when I finally decided to execute on that plan. There is so much that goes into being an author than just writing. You have to begin early by building your audience, networking, setting budgets, researching, and other things. I just sort of jumped right in when I figured it was time for me to complete my story. So, now I’m having to do all that I should have done in the beginning while also trying to complete stories. You live, and you learn though; therefore, I’m just taking each experience and applying them to my future endeavors.Slyce: What goals would you like to achieve as an author?NLH: Gain new readers in which I can share my many stories with. Also, I hope to become a New York Times Bestseller.Slyce: What advice would you like to share with aspiring authors?NLH: I would say begin early, research, don’t get caught up in the industry’s drama, never allow anyone to make you doubt yourself. This gift was given to us by God so no one can take that away. Stay consistent with your work, write what’s in your heart. Also, make sure to connect with your readers, never give up, and have faith no matter how long it takes you to become successful. If this is truly your passion, then it will one day pay off.Slyce: Is there anything else cooking in the lab for Author N.L. Hudson?NLH: Yes, I’m working on book 2 of a two-book series, another spin off, and I’m completing a short story that I started on.Slyce: Do you write for the passion or the profit?NLH: As a new author, you mainly write for the passion. Once I’m an established author, I’d like to write for both!Slyce: Where can our viewers purchase your book?NLH:GoodreadsMy websiteSlyce: Is your book an eBook and/or paperback?NLH: As of right now, it’s just an eBook, but shortly it will be available in paperback as well.Slyce: How can our viewers contact you?NLH:I’m on Facebook as N.L. Upcoming release

Good Morning,

So, I wanted to dive right in today. Currently, I'm working on a finale to a 2 book series.
What the story is about is a young married couple, Nahir and Paisley. They've been together for two years and married for four at the time of the novel. Well, they seem to have this great relationship. The two support each other with their business endeavors, they host parties, and they have date nights, and they just love each other. But then, tragedy strikes with Paisley. Her father, who is like the apple of her eye has been caught cheating on her mother. Paisley's parents have been married for thirty years, so she is devastated to learn that her father has stepped out on the seemingly perfect relationship that he's had. So, Paisley she sort of has a breakdown; the life as she knew it felt as though it was over. During her depression stage, Paisley turns to her own husband for a shoulder to lean on. Initially, she had his support, but after a while, it becomes too much for Nahir to deal with. He understands his wife feelings regarding the situation, but he doesn't think that it is as bad as Paisley makes it out to be. Plus, he believes that she is too invested in her parent's marriage. At that point, Nahir starts to resent Paisley. One, because she spends all of her time talking about her parents, and two, she isn't giving him the child that he has wanted since they first got married. So, with each day that passes, Nahir starts to pull away from Paisley. And after some time, he finds himself entertaining the wrong company.

Alright, so that's the brief description of the story. I wanted to give you a little taste regarding what the book is about since I'm going to be working on part two. Good Afternoon Everyone!

So, today I just wanted to take the time to talk about me in general; things such as what my day entails, and what it is like for me to be a writer.

Well, first, my day begins at 5:30 in the morning. I get up, and help my nine and eleven year old boys (I call them the gap twins) to get ready for school. Which by the way is no easy fate. It's almost like pulling teeth just to get them to leave the comforts of their bed. I can probably count on one hand the number of times they have actually gotten up when the alarm clock first went off. And, it's worst if I'm still sleepy myself, because then I fall back asleep and after that we're all scrambling around running late. Okay, so if we actually get up and get the ball rolling at a decent time, then I have them ready about 7:10. We then warm the car, if it's cold like it is now, and I'd say about 7:20 maybe 7:25 at the latest we're headed on our way. By 7:30, I dropp the boys off. We each say our goodbyes and I love you's. This is a general practice that I've been doing since they were first born. We do not...I repeat, we do not part without telling each other that. Some people may think that it's quirky, but I feel as though my children need to hear that from their mama. They are only little people, but people nonetheless so I want them to know at all times that I love them. Although, at some other times they make me want to run away. No, I'm just kidding. Well not really. I do sometimes think about running away to the imaginary room in my house that no one knows about, including myself. It's only in my head when they are working my nerves.

Alright, so after dropping them off, I head over to the park and walk for about an hour. Now, I'm not going to lie and say that I do this every morning because I don't. :(  However, I try my best to get in a workout at least three times a week, and on my good weeks, I aim for five. But it's been awhile since I did a full straight week of working out. I need to work on that. I was once pretty dedicated to exercising to a point, that I would feel extremely sluggish if I didn't workout. Well, I guess it's no difference since I feel sluggish if I don't. Lol.

After my workout, I usually come home and fix me some oatmeal and have two glasses of lemon water. I read on several sites that drinking lemon water early in the morning wakes the organs that had been sleeping all night. Not sure how true, but if it's on the internet then it has to be correct, right? Anyway, so after that, I usually do a little cleaning around the house. I don't genuinely have much because I clean in the evenings, and when my boys  come home from school they have chores as well. Not major ones, but little small chores that I feel they can handle on their own. I'm trying to raise responsible, young men here, so yes, I put them to work at times. I believe that by doing that it's grooming them to handle being on their own when they become adults. And that way, they won't need a woman to pick up after them. She'll be an addition to their life and not a filler for their mama.

Once I've done everything around the house, I then go to my favorite spot, which is my room and sit on my comfy, King sized bed. After that, I pick up my laptop and place it on my lap. I tell myself, "get to work now, and don't stop until you've written over five thousand words!" Ha, funny huh? Well, if not to you, it certainly is to me because I never do that. After picking up my laptop, I grab my cell immediately after. I go to Facebook and I look through it for over an hour. And then, I'll finally tell myself that I need to work. Now, usually I do get to work after procrastinating for over an hour. But then, there is my cell calling out for me to pick it up again. And you know what I do? I pick it up because who am I to neglect something that has been there for me when I needed it most. I can always count on my phone to dial out when I need to make a call, or to take some pretty dope selfies when I finally do decide to post them online. So, yeah, I give in and once again look through one of my social medias. I can say though, I'm not always caught up on funny videos that make you laugh so hard you actually have tears in your eyes. Often times, I'm searching ways to promote and brand myself. Occasionally, I post inspirational memes or cute little quotes. But since I'm such an introvert I rarely ever post. This is something else that I need to work on.

Now, once I've finally cracked down on myself and admitted that I need to get to work, then I once again open my laptop. I'll jump right in to whatever character is speaking to me the most, and I'll write consistently for like an hour straight. I mean I will really be into it. All type of ooh's and ahh's will be leaving my mouth. Then, once those voices in my head calms down, I'll be stuck again trying to figure out what I'm going to write next. Because, as I've stated before I do not like to write an outline. I feel it takes away from your creativeness when you do that. At least that's how it works for me. However, on those rare occasions I do decide to outline say a chapter or two, then they are not strict by any means. I write it so that they are as bendable as I need them to be. At any minute during any of my stories, I can take out a character, add one in, change the city or whatever I feel is necessary to make the story flow to me. I'm my own worst critic, so I hate for a story to not jump out to me. If it doesn't pop then I might delete a chapter or two, or even start over fresh. Then I take forever to write because I'm like the biggest perfectionist. I actually go through grammar check while I'm writing my rough draft. How insanely time wasting is that? And then, what's worst is that I'll check over it so many times that I still miss something. I won't catch it though until I've actually walked away and came back to it at a later time.

Alright, so once I get a good flow going, my characters are acting right, and I feel like writing, then I'll work sometimes for a whole day. My quitting time usually comes around 3 o'clock when it's time to start preparing myself for the boys to come home. Then, depending on the day of the week, I may or may not have to plan for football or basketball practice. Oh, by the way my boys LOVE sports. I mean they will play sports in their sleep if they could stand up straight. It is so serious that my husband and I sometimes have to check their schedules to make sure they don't have anything going on before we'll be able to plan a date night. Crazy huh? Well, sort of. But I have to admit that it keeps me balanced. When you're grieving it's good to have something that keeps us occupied. And outside of writing my family does just that.

Once I've cooked dinner and went over homework, taken the boys to whatever practice, watched television, or played the game, (whichever family activity that my boys have picked out) I'm finally able to have a little me time in the late, late, afternoon. It's not much time because after all that is finished, I'll usually have to get ready for bed myself. But it is enough time to browse my social media or watch one of my shows until I fall asleep. Then afterwards, guess what, I wake up by the Grace of God to do it all over again!

So, there you have it; my life in a nutshell! I wanted to use this opportunity to share a piece of my life with you guys and I honestly feel like I've done that. I'll continue to take you along on my journey as I travel it. I'm not a big author by a long shot, and I don't pretend to be. But what I can say is that I'm confident enough to know that my work is so great that one day it'll reach somebody that will be big enough to give me the exposure I need. That is why I'm never giving up writing. It is my passion, and I'm damn good at it. And this is coming from someone who believes in them self enough to know that N.L. Hudson will be a household name.

Thank you everyone for reading, and until next time! I hope that you enjoy this!

Sneak Peek: (All I Ever Wanted Was to Stay Down for You)

                                              **********************
Thirty minutes later
Micah was sitting on the phone running her mouth to Ises. They had been talking for over an hour, and the conversation didn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Micah was telling Ises about how she wanted to go back to school to get her Master’s degree, and she was getting her feedback on the situation.
“Micah, I think that’s a good idea. But what about Princess?” Ises asked.
“What you mean? I can take care of a baby and be in school at the same time.”
“I know, but I mean are you going to put her in daycare?”
“You know I haven’t really thought about that. Maybe, I can part-time. I mean, I don’t-,” Micah was saying, but Vic stepping inside the room stopped her mid-sentence. She glanced up at him and rolled her eyes.
“Aye, let me talk to you for a minute,” Vic said, but Micah ignored him.
“Yeah, but like I was saying, I will probably put her in daycare part-time. I can do some classes online and some on campus. That way I won’t be away from her too long,” Micah said, and Vic sighed. He gripped the bridge of his nose while trying to keep his composure. He was standing there listening to Micah tell Ises of some plans that she hadn’t mentioned to him. Then, she was doing so with him standing there as if she didn’t see him. Vic was about to try once again to talk to Micah’s stubborn ass, and hopefully that time she got some sense.
“Did you hear me tell you that I was trying to talk to you?” he said, and again Micah ignored him.
“I don’t know,” Micah told Ises and then she suddenly laughed as if she’d heard the funniest thing ever. Vic shook his head because he knew that she was doing that shit on purpose.
“Aye, Micah, I’m trying to talk to you,” Vic bellowed.
“Oh, my gosh. Ises hold on. Let me see what he wants,” Micah sighed, and Ises giggled.
“What…what do you want Vic?” Micah snapped.
“First, calm the fuck down with that attitude. Now, you see that I’m trying to talk to you, and you sitting there acting like a little ass girl. Grow the hell up Micah,” Vic yelled.
“I don’t have to do a damn thing, but stay black and die,” Micah countered back.
“That’s exactly what I’m talking about. You childish as fuck,” Vic spewed, and Micah rolled her eyes again.
“Anyway, Ises what were you saying?”
“Girl, do you want me to call you back?” Ises asked.
“No, he’ll be alright-,” Vic suddenly snatched the phone from Micah. “What are you doing?” She yelled while jumping to her feet.
“Aye, Ises, she’ll call you back.”
“Okay,” Ises laughed, and Vic ended the call.
“Why you taking my phone? I was down here minding my business, and you bothering me,” Micah said as she struggled to take her phone back. Unfortunately, due to Vic being so much taller than her, she couldn’t get ahold of it. “Give it to me, now,” Micah demanded.
“Are you ready to talk?” Vic asked with a sly grin. It was doing him much pleasure to see her jumping about, and he thought she was so cute with the pout on her face.
“You think this shit is funny. But you know what, fuck it! You can keep the damn phone, I’m still not gonna say nothing to your ass. You didn’t want to talk last night, but now you gonna come down here and make me talk to you. Nah, fuck that,” Micah said folding her arms over her breasts. Vic stepped closer to her and stared down into her eyes.
“And why not?” He asked calmly, which further pissed Micah off.
“Because, you always doing shit to make me mad, and then when I react, you turn around and play the victim. You play head games with me, and try to make it seem like I’m this crazy person.”
“You are,” Vic laughed.
“No, your ass is crazy. And let me tell you something else,” Micah said pointing her finger in Vic’s face. However, Vic grabbed hold of it and squeezed it tightly.
“Let my finger go,” Micah said, but instead of Vic doing as she’d instructed, he stuck it into his mouth and began to suck on it.
“Noooo, I don’t want your nasty ass mouth on me,” Micah whined.
“What you mean? The only place it has been is on you. Plus, your lips may be saying that, but your body is telling me something else,” Vic said staring at Micah’s hard nipples through the thin tank top that she had on. Micah followed his eyes, and when she saw what he was staring at, she got mad at herself. Damn him, for always being able to make her body react to his touch.
“Vic let my finger go now,” she gritted. She wasn’t about to give in....she just couldn’t. Especially, not after the way that he’d treated her the night before. Vic had really shown his ass, but as Micah looked into his light brown eyes, she found it hard to resist him.Vic finally allowed her finger to drop. But just as he released that, he immediately took hold of Micah’s body. Pulling her close, to him Vic swooped her off her feet. He walked her over to the couch and laid her down. Micah fought and kicked the whole time.
“Nope, don’t even think about it,” she said as Vic pried her legs apart. He tussled with Micah until he finally pulled her yoga pants down and exposed her bare pussy.
“So, you gonna deny me what’s mine?” Vic asked using the line that he always used on her. Micah nodded her head.
“Yup, I’m not fucking with you right now,” She said with a frown.
“What if I promise not to be bad again?” Vic asked as he leaned forward, lifted her top, and plucked a nipple into his mouth. At the same time, he took his index finger and slid it into Micah’s wetness.
“Mmm,” Micah moaned unintentionally. She was giving in to him like she always did. She just couldn’t help herself. As Vic continued to suck on her breast, Micah spread her legs further apart. Vic rotated to the other breast. He took the tip of his long tongue and flickered it on that nipple. “Oh, God. Why are you doing this to me?” Micah asked.
“Because, I love you, and I want to make you feel good,” Vic said in between licks to Micah’s nipple.
“Whatever, you don’t love me,” Micah said, and Vic smirked.
“Now, even you know that’s a lie. I love you so much that I would kill for you,” Vic said as he trailed kisses down her midsection. Micah squirmed at his touch. “What you moving for? I ain’t even did shit?” He asked.
“Because…mmm,” she moaned.
“Because of what?” When Vic got eye level to her Kitty, he just sat there staring at it. He then spread Micah legs as far as they would go. “So, you don’t think that I love you?” He asked.
“I don’t know…do you?” Micah said pressing her lips together.
“Since you don’t know, let me show you how much I do,” Vic told her as he lowered his head. When his thick lips connected with Micah’s clit, she immediately lost her mind.
“Oh, shit,” she gasped.
“Yeah…just what I thought,” Vic said and then took his tongue and inserted it into her hole. He made sure to stiffen it as he darted it in and out.
“Oh, my fucking goodness!”
Micah was now gripping her own breasts as Vic fucked her senselessly with just his tongue alone. He was eating her so good that it had her bucking all over the place, including his face. When he removed his tongue from her hole, Vic wrapped his whole mouth around her pearl. Gently applying pressure, he began to suck on it. “Vic baby, I’m about to cummmmmm,” Micah screamed as she felt her body tense up. Vic ignored her though as he sucked harder. “Yessssssss,” Micah said as her body released the best orgasm that she’d experienced thus far from him giving her head. Vic finally lifted and looked into Micah’s eyes. Her juices were glistening all over his face, and that only turned her on more. “So, did that show you that I love you?” Vic asked as he rushed to unbuckle his belt. He then unzipped his pants and pulled them along with his boxers down. While stroking himself, he grinned sexily at her.
Micah took in his body. His washboard abs were exposed from him holding up his shirt, and when her eyes fell on his dick, all she could do was bite her bottom lip. That thang there was something serious, she thought. It was long, thick, and just the perfect size. Just looking at it, had Micah’s pussy dripping wet all over again. When Vic leaned into her and slid himself inside, her eyes rolled to the back of her head. She hadn’t even recovered from the first orgasm, and there they were already at it again.
“Ahh, yesss,” she cooed as Vic’s dick automatically connected with her g-spot.
“You didn’t answer my question. Now, do you see how much I love you?” Vic asked again as he took Micah’s legs and placed them in the crook of his arms. He slowly slid in and out, while watching his dick disappear and then reappear. It was already covered in her wetness.
“I don’t know,” Micah said still trying to play hard.
“Oh, you don’t?” Vic asked and wrapped Micah’s legs around his waist. He pulled her closer to him and went deeper. Lifting her hands above her head, Vic interlocked their fingers.
“No, I don’t know. Un, oh shit,” Micah said all in one breath.
“Yes, you do. You know a nigga loves you, just like you love me,” Vic said as he released Micah’s hands. He then grabbed hold of her butt and pulled her even closer to him. Their bodies were now so entangled that it was almost as if they were conjoined at the hips.
“Shit Micah, this pussy feels good,” Vic groaned as Micah leaned in to place kisses on his neck.
“Ooh, baby,” Micah said as she felt Vic going deeper. It was almost as if he was in her soul, and she had to admit that it hurt, but it was a hurt so good feeling that Micah didn’t want to end.   Vic suddenly stopped stroking Micah and then stood up with her wrapped tightly around him. Using his strong thigh muscles, he began to bounce her up and down. “Sssss,” Micah hissed while throwing her head back.
“Tell me you love me,” Vic demanded as he bounced her harder. I’m about to cummmm,” Micah screamed. She wrapped her arms around Vic’s neck and closed her eyes tightly.
“Nah, tell me you love me first,” Vic said as he too felt himself on the verge of releasing.
“I love you, baby. Oh, yes, I love you. I’m about to cummmmmm. Can I cum baby?” Micah said as Vic hit her spot repeatedly. A tingling sensation shot all over her body, and Micah’s legs began to shake uncontrollably.
“I love you too. And yeah, cum for me baby,” Vic whispered just before smashing his lips to hers. At the same time, he continued to drill himself in and out. When he felt Micah juices pour on him, he pumped a few more times, and then he released deep inside of her.
“Argh, shit,” he said.
“Ahhh,” Micah released as she ground into him one final time. She could still feel the tingling sensation on her clit.
Vic leaned in and pecked her lips before placing her back on the floor. “So, we good,” Vic asked in a breathy tone.
Micah pursed her lips together. “Yeah, we’re good,” she finally said. “But, don’t let that shit happen again. I don’t care if you have to get an extra battery, or what. That phone should never be off. And I don’t mind you hanging Vic, just be respectful and check-in. And please, don’t be out here driving drunk. I don’t know what I would do if something were to happen to you” Micah said, and Vic couldn’t do nothing but respect that.
“I gotcha,” he said, and Micah cocked her head to the side.
“I’m serious,” she told him.
“And I said I gotcha. Now, I’m about to go clean up, and I got something that I need to handle and-,”
“Wait, why do I feel like this is Deja Vu?” Micah asked interrupting.
“If you just shut up, I was about to say that once I finish handling my business, then I’m gonna take you out. You think Princess will be okay staying with your momma?” Vic asked, and Micah smiled.
“Yes, she will be okay. I’ll probably just need to take her some more things. But where you gonna take me?” Micah asked excitedly. Besides, going to Ises and Chaz’s wedding, it seemed it had been forever since the two had gone somewhere together. Hell, they hadn’t even celebrated their engagement yet.
“Don’t worry about all that. You just go get dressed, because it takes yo ass damn near three days just to find what you’re going to wear,” Vic said, and Micah laughed.
“Whatever, it does not take me that long. But anyway, you just better not have me waiting all damn day,” Micah said just as Vic leaned in to kiss her lips once again.
“I won’t,” Vic said and smacked Micah on the ass.
“Oww,” she whined.

“Shut up. Now go wash yo ass,” Vic told her, and Micah laughed again while shaking her head.

Thirty minutes later
Vic and Micah had just arrived at the steakhouse where both had decided to grab dinner. They each loved to eat steaks and couldn’t wait to get their hands on one. For some reason, Micah was extremely hungry. She’d been eating all day, and still didn’t seem to be full. In fact, if she thought about it, Micah had been stuffing herself a lot lately. It was probably why she couldn’t lose her baby weight. “Hello, is it just the two of you?” A young, male hostess asked. “Yeah, just us,” Vic said.“Alright, follow me this way,” He told them while grabbing two menus. Vic and Micah followed him through the restaurant where they stopped at a little table that was set up for two. The hostess sat the menus down on the table, and then he advised that their waitress would be out in just a few. After that, he left. Once he was gone, Vic quickly walked over to Micah’s side and pulled the chair out so that she could sit down. “Look at my boo being a gentleman,” She said with an arched brow. Vic was pulling out all the stops that night. After they had dropped Princess off with Micah’s momma, he had stopped by a little flower shop on the way to the restaurant and got her a dozen of long-stemmed red roses. The act had come as a total surprise. Vic had never been the type to buy Micah flowers. He was more of a shopping spree, new car, or a piece of jewelry type of guy. And not that she didn’t like those things, because Micah did. She just also liked the smaller, simple things such as getting a card or flowers every now and then. “What, you know I’m that nigga,” Vic stated.“Boy Bye! Don’t go getting cocky,” Micah laughed.“You know it’s the truth,” Vic stated. Just then, the waitress came over and introduced herself. She was an average height, curvy white girl, with long brown hair. She had a southern accent that let you know she’d grown up around mostly blacks. The whole time she was taking their order, the waitress just kept starting at Vic in this lustful manner. She was just too thirsty. At least that’s the way that Micah took it. Not once did the girl make eye contact with her. The whole scene was starting to piss Micah off. “So, do y’all know what you want to drink?” She asked Vic. “Uh, let me get water for right now. What about you Micah?” he asked. “I’ll take a strawberry lemonade.” “Mhm, and do you want to order an appetizer sir,” the waitress asked while pretty much cutting Micah off and keeping her eyes trained on Vic. “Baby, you know what you want?” Vic asked Micah. She rolled her eyes while taking a deep breath. “I don’t know yet?” Micah’s tone was stiff and short.“Aight, so I’ll let you know in a minute what we want,” Vic told the waitress.“Yeah, you do that. And in the meantime, if there is anything else that I can get for y’all just let me know. I won’t be too far away, okay,” The waitress said with this flirtiness in her tone. Micah sat back watching. She was really appalled by the girl’s boldness. There she was sitting right at the table with Vic, but the bitch acted as if she wasn’t anywhere around. And what was crazy is that Vic seemed to be completely oblivious to what was going on around him. He hadn’t noticed the snarl on Micah’s face. He just sat there carrying on with the waitress. “Aight, ‘preciate that,” he said. “No, problem. Don’t forget I’m not too far away. My name is Samantha,” The waitress told him, and then for a while she just stared at Vic with this faraway look in her eyes. “Um, that’s it. You can go get our stuff now,” Micah finally said reaching her breaking point. “Oh, okay. Yeah, I will be back,” The waitress said and then turned to leave. She still didn’t glance Micah’s way. Micah smirked while turning to give Vic the side eye. “What?” Vic asked. “Nothing, really. I just see you got a little admirer,” Micah stated. She had to laugh to keep from going off. She’d suddenly started to take notice of how a lot of women had been flirting with Vic there lately. Just a few months back when they were out at the mall a couple of women had stopped him and held a conversation as if she wasn’t standing there. They’d made sure to let him know that they’d seen him at the club, and how they recognized him as one of the club owners. One girl had been bold enough to say that she would love to kick it with him one day in the VIP area. Now, Micah had already felt some type of way that Vic was even entertaining those bitches, but when the chick said that, it really made her mad. Especially when all Vic did was laugh it off. He hadn’t said anything to the girl for getting out of line right in front of his woman. So, Micah took it upon herself to tell them what it was. She’d immediately told the thirsty bitches to beat it. They’d all just looked at her as if she was crazy. But she didn’t give a damn. She had every right to be territorial over her man. And then after they had left, Micah went in on Vic. Of course, he tried to play dumb like he didn’t know what she was mad about. But he knew, just like she did what was wrong with the situation. And it had nothing to do with her being jealous as Vic had tried to make it seem. What Micah had pointed out, was that he should have made them respect her when he saw that it was getting out of line. But Micah figured that Vic just like the attention that he often received. That’s why he never said anything. She also wondered at times did he miss being with different women. Since Vic had never had a real relationship besides theirs, it sometimes made Micah feel that it was all too much for him. And that thought would often bring about the question if she and Vic could make it last. She’d toned down her ways, but Vic thought he could do whatever he wanted. “Here you go,” Vic said. “What, I’m saying, you didn’t notice how she was just flirting with you while I was sitting right here?”“Nah, I didn’t,” Vic said. “Whatever, you saw it just like I did. But, you know what, I ain’t tripping. Just keep letting these bitches gas your head up,” Micah said, and Vic threw up his hands. “What I do wrong? I was just sitting here minding my business. Besides, I can’t help that she was flirting with me. You ought to be happy you got a man that every other female wants, but can’t have because I belong to you,” Vic said with a smirk.“Okay. Keep thinking this is a game. I’mma see how you act when someone tries to holler at me or be all in my face flirting. I want you to sit there and be happy that you got a woman that other guys find desirable. And trust and believe, I still got it. Plenty of men have tried to holler. I just haven’t told you about it.”“Yeah, aight. Keep playing with me,” Vic said getting a little pissed. He didn’t like to know that other guys were out there trying to get with Micah. It made Vic wonder if she would ever entertain the bullshit. Just like him, she too ate up the extra attention. The only difference was that Micah liked to pretend that she was innocent. She never said anything that she did wrong. “Oh, so you don’t like to hear that, but I can sit here and watch other women smile and grin in your face, while at the same time disrespect me?” Micah said with a smirk. She’d once again turned the tables on Vic.  “Nah, it ain’t cool. And if you want, you can check the bitch if she gets out of line again. How about that,” Vic asked. He figured the problem would be solved if he just gave Micah the go-ahead to correct the situation. All he wanted to do was enjoy the evening with his girl and not argue over stupid bullshit. It’s not even like he knew ole girl, so really Vic was like fuck it. “You just don’t get it, do you?” Micah said. “What…what I do now? I’m trying to shut all this shit down by telling you to handle the situation.“See that’s where you got it all wrong. I can talk until I’m blue in the face and these bitches still won’t get it. It needs to come from you that way they’ll really understand,” Micah told him. “Aight, I get what you saying. If she does something else, then I’ll handle it. Now, can we enjoy the rest of our date?”“Yes, we can do that. Just as long as you take care of it.” “I gotcha,” Vic said. He then pushed his chair back, leaned across the table and planted a kiss on Micah’s lips. She tried to act like she was mad by resisting him at first, but Vic wasn’t having it. “Nah, don’t deny me of what’s mine,” he said smashing his lips into hers. “Mmm,” she moaned. Just, as usual, he was shutting her up by being all affectionate and whatnot. Micah had learned a little while back that her primary love language was physical touch, and that was probably why Vic was always able to swoon her in with sex and anything else that pertained to him touching her body. See, Vic’s primary love language was words of affirmation, and that was why when he received a lot of attention it made him feel good. It was also the reason why he felt the need to go out of his way to please others. He just had to hear that he was the man that came to everyone’s rescue. Just to hear people say that he’d done something good often boosted Vic’s ego.Suddenly, the waitress appeared with their drinks in her hand. She enviously stared at the two as they seemed to tongue each other down right there in the restaurant. For a minute, she just stood there watching, and then after getting jealous of the affection, Vic was giving to Micah she decided to break it up. “Ahh-hmm,” she said clearing her throat. Micah tried to pull back, but Vic grabbed her chin and placed another kiss on her lips. Once again, the waitress just stood there watching. She could have easily placed their drinks on the table and left, but she felt like being petty. Although Samantha didn’t know Vic, she just felt like she had to have him. And because of how he’d initially handled the situation, it made the waitress feel as though she could take him from Micah. Or at least, get the opportunity to hook up with him later. “Ahh-hmm,” she said again. That time Vic pulled away from he and Micah’s kiss. He slightly turned his head and looked at Samantha. It was then that Vic saw just what Micah had been talking about. Shorty was obviously determined to get his attention no matter what. And that shit was just plain disrespectful.“Aye, you can put our drinks down and leave. Don’t you see that we are busy?” He said. “Oh, I um,” The waitress stammered while seemingly caught off guard by the shift of Vic’s attitude. She didn’t understand what had happened, or why he was suddenly so unfriendly. “Well, um what about your order? I need to take them.” Samantha said. “Nah, you know what, we gonna go somewhere else. I don’t think I like your attitude. You are doing way too much to be a fucking waitress. Not once have you given eye contact to my fiancé, because you too busy staring in my face? Do you treat all your customer’s like that, or did you think ‘cause a nigga was nice it was more than it actually was?” Vic asked. At that moment, you could have bought her ass for a penny. Samantha’s mouth was open so wide that someone could have put a whole fist in it. She also had this silly little look on her face. Hmm, that’s what her ass gets, Micah thought with a satisfied smirk as she watched Samantha’s face turn this beet red color. She was glad that Vic had read her. “I’m sorry, and I apologize for my actions. Is there anything that I can do to make you change your mind about leaving.” Samantha’s tone wasn’t even the same. She’d suddenly lost the ghetto accent and was sounding proper as hell.  “Nope, and as a matter of fact go get your manager so that I can let them know just how unprofessional you are.” “My manager?” Samantha asked in a shaky tone. She prayed that Vic wasn’t serious. See, that wasn’t her first time getting into trouble for doing something similar. The last time she was warned about her attitude towards the customers, Samantha’s boss had told her that she’d get fired if one more person reported her. And she couldn’t afford to lose her job. Samantha was a single parent of three children, and that was her only income. “Yeah, your mana-,” “Baby, let’s just go. I think she got the point. Maybe next time honey, you’ll think twice about being thirsty, and find a man of your own.” Micah stated. “You sure,” Vic asked with a raise of his brow.“Yeah, I’m good,” Micah glanced at the waitress one last time. “Plus, she might need this little job, because I’m sure she doesn’t have an education,” Micah stated, and Vic chuckled. Samantha stood there and didn’t say anything. She’d caught the shade, but it wasn’t worth losing her job over. So, she was going to tuck her tail, and accept whatever came her way just as long as they left without mentioning the incident to her boss. After that, Vic got up walked around the table and pulled the chair out for Micah. He then grabbed her hand, and after placing a kiss on it, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, and the two proceeded to head out. Micah was happy with the way that Vic had handled the situation. However, two things were still bothering her. One, Vic had known all along that the waitress was treating her differently because of him. He’d made that apparent when he was going off. And the second was, had she not said anything would he have just sat there and let her endure it all, so he could continue to get his ego stroked? Micah loved the fact that he corrected things when she asked him to. But what she really preferred was for Vic to grow up, and stop trying to view the world through rose-tinted glasses. A lot of their issues could easily be prevented if he just started to think of how she would feel first instead of waiting for something big to happen and having to apologize for it then. If Micah could get him to do that, then things would be better for the two.

Hello All!

So, I'm going to jump right in. I wanted to bring you guys something special. Earlier this month, my co-authors and I created a book that has some of our short stories in it. Well, our publisher has released those short stories to Amazon & Goodreads. And here's the great part- they're all free. Now, who wouldn't like something free? The stories are all good, and they are available for your reading pleasure. Once again, the short story compilation is free. All you'll need to do is follow the link to download it on Amazon. I believe that my story is about the third or fourth one. I can't remember exactly which one it is. But I know that you'll enjoy those, before and after, along with mine. Once you're done, if you like leave us a review. We love to hear your feedback so that we'll be able to continue bringing you the best stories that we can.

The link is attached above, and below you'll see the cover for the book. As always, thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a great day!
