THE RITE OF WANDS named 2017 Foreword INDIES Book of Year Awards Finalist

March 22, 2018 – BHC Press is pleased to announce THE RITE OF WANDS by Mackenzie Flohr has been recognized as a finalist in the 20th annual Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards.

As part of its mission to discover, review, and share the best books from university and independent publishers (and authors), independent media company Foreword Magazine, Inc. hosts its annual awards program each year. Finalists represent the best books published in 2017. After more than 2,000 individual titles spread across 65 genres were submitted for consideration, the list of finalists was determined by Foreword’s editorial team. Winners will be decided by an expert team of booksellers and librarians—representing Foreword’s readership—from across the country.

The complete list of finalists can be found at: https://www.forewordreviews.com/award...

“Choosing finalists for the INDIES is always the highlight of our year, but the job is very difficult due to the high quality of submissions,” said Victoria Sutherland, founder/publisher of Foreword Reviews. “Each new book award season proves again how independent publishers are the real innovators in the industry.”

THE RITE OF WANDS by Mackenzie Flohr named 2017 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards Winner

BHC Press is pleased to announce THE RITE OF WANDS by Mackenzie Flohr has been named a winner in the 20th annual Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards.

Foreword Reviews, a book review journal focusing on independently published books, announced the winners of its INDIES Book of the Year Awards today. The INDIES recognize the best books published in 2017 from small, indie, and university presses.

For a list of all winners, visit: https://www.forewordreviews.com/award...

“Awarding the INDIES is an intense months long judging process and our editorial team and librarian/bookseller judges grow a bit emotional as the announcement date nears,” said Matt Sutherland, Foreword Reviews’ editor-in-chief. “Everyone involved finds it a great honor to recognize all these great books because so many of them have been overlooked by mainstream publications due to the low profile of their publishers and authors. While they don’t have major PR machine or corporate budgets, these indie publishers are passionate about what they do, take chances, and produce a wide range of thought-provoking books.”
