J.B. Jamison also writes as Pops Jamison

2017 was the year that John Jamison turned 65 and signed-up for Medicare. It was also the year that as J. B. Jamison, he published his first novel called Disruption, as Pops Jamison he published his first children’s book, and as John B. Jamison he signed a contract for his fourth collection of stories with C. S. S. Publishing. A long-time believer in the power of stories, John saw sixty-five as just another bookmark in his personal story…a story of possibilities.

Twenty-five years ago he found himself at Mayo Clinic where he was diagnosed with a serious illness. “I asked the doctor what I could expect and he said, ‘Oh, it’s going to kill you. It might be three years, seven at the most, or maybe tomorro

What was?

That is my answer, but the Goodreads editor is highlighting in red: Sorry, your answer is too short. Longer answers are more popular with readers, and even “yes or no” answers are more interesting with more detail.

So, I've added these sentences to make an algorithm happy. Because of that, I'll add a second, two-word horror story.

For example, since I am working on my next book I know I want to read a few things about "hacking" next month, but I don't know just what that will be yet. I also know I will probably pull one of James Thurber's books off my shelf again, but not sure which one.

Much of the time, my reading depends on the experiences I have during my day. I might read something in the news that strikes me, and then find a book that expands on that idea. It seems I am always reading something...but never quite know what it might be beforehand.

As I said, I've never been that good a 'lists'. I used to make them all the time, and then promptly lose them...so I just kind of gave up.(less)

Tasteful Preaching – A Short Story

by John B. JamisonAs the congregation sang the last verse of the closing hymn, he made his way to the back of the sanctuary. When he first came to the church, someone had told him that this was where the preacher always stood to shake everyone’s hands, so he dutifully took up the tradition and found his mark.Every week it worked out about the same. Half of the worshipers filed past him, shaking hi Read more of this blog post »
