A misguided search for love and acceptance led Maureen into a world of drugs and life in a motorcycle gang. A victim of a violent gang war, she suffered two gunshot wounds from an M16 rifle.
Within those few seconds, the crippling bullets forever changed her life. The pain and suffering from that act of violence were the beginning of a long journey to recovery.
Alone in a hospital room, she was consumed with shame, anger, and fear. It was during her long struggle towards recovery that she encountered the Savior who gave her the strength and courage to live a restored life in God’s transforming love.

She is an author, writer, inspirational speaker, and blogger.
