I started writing when I graduated college with a major I no longer wanted to use. Fortunately I turned out to be good at it. I write film reference books, historical fantasy, and Undead Sexist Cliches, a book dissecting the stupidity of misogynist arguments. Some of my books are under Fraser Sherman because I never thought the use of my middle initial would matter.

In any specfic story set in the "real world" there's balance between the speculative elements (fantasy, sf or horror) and the grounded ons. Blatty can't balance. For the first hundred pages we get mundane details
