Hot Flashes!

I’m delighted to say that the second of my two Hot Flash stories due out over the summer with JMS Books will be released on August 21st.

This short story is called Stage Struck and is set in one of my favourite eras, the vibrant, roistering and often dangerous world of the Elizabethan Theatre in London in the 1590s.

As a humble scribe living out a humdrum existence in the City of London in Elizabethan times, Stephen finds his escape across the river amongst the crowds of the teeming theatres where he is transported by the spectacle.

But poetry isn’t everything. When a young Welsh actor called Ioan catches his eye, he’s tempted to overcome his shyness and make his acquaintance. Is Stephen out of his depth in this colourful world with its undertones of danger? Or might there be a slim chance that Ioan can return his feelings?

A big thank you again to the lovely Ofelia Grand for having me as her guest to chat about my inspiration for Stage Struck on her Friday At Ofelia’s blog.

Stage Struck Release!

My second Hot Flash with JMS Books was released on August 21st. It's set in one my my favourite eras, the exciting world of Elizabethan Theatre.

When Stephen spots Ioan on the stage of The Rose Theatre on London’s Southbank, it is love at first sight. Can Stephen be brave enough to approach the object of his desire? If he overcomes his bashfulness, might the consequences be beyond his wildest dreams?

40% off weekend sale at JMS Books including pre-release!

JMS Books is holding a 40% off sale this weekend, running from Saturday, May 28th through to Monday, May 30th. I’ll certainly be stocking up on some summer read bargains from my favourite authors!

I’m delighted to say that Held Close to My Heart, my story for JMS Books’ June Hugs or Kisses story submission is included in the sale on pre-release.

My new story, released on June 4th, has first love and opposites attract as themes. It is set in 17th century Oxfordshire, where Luke and Jem, lifelong friends and lovers since their teenage years reach an impasse in their relationship.

Luke has always loved Jem, but his pleasure-seeking life at the court of King Charles II is a different world to Luke’s hard-working existence on his family farm in Oxfordshire. One summer, when they are both twenty-one, Luke can no longer bear to share Jem’s favours. Might his surge of jealousy ruin their lifelong bond? Or will showing his feelings change everything?
