Western Motivational Books Vs Eastern Spiritual Books
Some books inspire you to do more – take actions, go an extra mile, do this, do that. To exemplify, if you call 5 prospects daily, start making an extra call; if you don’t go to the gym, start going; read one book a day; etc.
Precisely, they inspire you to make additions to your life. Most of the times, these books fail to make you successful in your endeavours even if you agree with their assertion. Subconsciously, these books make you feel guilt, lack. According to the law of correspondence, lack attracts more lack; guilt attracts more guilt. Directly or indirectly, they put pressure on you. They complicate your already complicated life. You will lose your peace of mind. You can’t succeed in anything without having a peaceful mind.
On the contrary, some books inspire you to do less – stop doing this, stop doing that. To exemplify, stop thinking you are the doer of your actions and the enjoyer of the fruits of your actions; stop thinking you are this body; dissociate yourself from your mind; think less; limit your desires; etc.
Precisely, they inspire you to make subtractions to your life. These books help you succeed in life by helping you to simplify your life by doing less. Subconsciously, they make you feel abundant. According to the law of correspondence, abundance attracts more abundance. They diffuse the pressure. They give peace of mind, which is the key to success.
Most of the western motivational books fall in the first category. And most of the eastern spiritual books fall in the second category.
To sum up, to succeed in your endeavours, try to simplify your life. Read those books that help you attain peace of mind.
