Steve Gay is a writer of science fiction, historical fiction and short stories. He grew up in central England, and in Connecticut, and gained his first degree in History and Politics from the University of Southampton. It wasn’t until relatively late in life that he wrote his first novel, completing it on the train as he commuted to London. He left his career to focus on his writing, and completed a masters degree in writing at the University of Warwick. His first published novel, The Birds that do not Sing was the product of those studies, a historical novel set during the Second World War.
