Divine Offering - Short 3-verse poems

Divine Offering

The lonesome poppy
Infallibly the soil
scarlet red paints ...

Our tormented soul
like a lilac blooms again
with His divine Love

On the International Women's Day
We must show respect to all women - mothers - wives - daughters - workiers ... To those who fight with vigor and courage in a world full of adversity and injustice. In a world where even today they are considered second-class citizens. To those who, in this rough world, strive to give a little sweetness - like the morning kiss of the mother that we remember even after it disappears forever from her lips. Let us respect all women every day and let us be their supoprt. Because from a woman comes all the best!

Quote and translation by Irene Doura-Kavadia”
Irene Doura-Kavadia

“No matter the effort or the price, no matter how hard one tries to escape the time or the place, ultimately nobody can escape love - or fate!”
Irene Doura-Kavadia

“Man would not have attributed to Fate
its utterly controversial reputation
should it were to act upon man’s will
– for it seems totally impervious to intervention and completely unwilling, at times, to succumb even to His divine will….”
Irene Doura-Kavadia

Schopenhauer

“The Road not Taken

[...]
I shall be telling this with a sigh
somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference...”
Robert Frost

“Hungry man, reach for the book: it is a weapon.”
Bertolt Brecht

“True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.”
Arthur Ashe

“Hide me inside you, where the sweetest things are hidden, between the roots of roses and spices”
A.C. Swinburne
