Marcie Maxfield is an award-winning novelist, essayist, playwright, and speaker whose work blends humor, authenticity, and sharp cultural observation, with a particular focus on women’s lives, identity, and belonging. She is the author of JewGirl: On Being and Belonging, winner of the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Award for Women’s Issues, and the novel Em’s Awful Good Fortune, winner of the Independent Press Award for Contemporary Novel. Her play Girls Together Always, about growing up girl, received an ENCORE! Producers’ Award at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Originally from Detroit, Maxfield moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in media, marketing, and publishing and now calls Palm Springs home.
