Sage Among the Pines
Sage is a great summer read about the complexities of the relationship between parents and teens. Teenagers are learning about themselves, their feelings, their emotions all the while that hormones are blasting them. Then there is self-esteem and social pressures--judgment, peer pressure, sexual awakening, etc. Take all these elements, and then introduce anger, tragedy, disillusionment, grieving, and displacement and you have "Sage Among the Pines."
It would take an unbelievable amount of love, understanding, patience, experience, and maybe even horses to bring Lexi back from her own prison of disappointment.
Find out if it can be done.

Vietnam Vets
I think many of my readers would be interested in hearing stories about memories and experiences from the men and women who served in Vietnam; I know I would! A collection of stories from all those brave veterans would make an interesting and compassionate read. I know it has been a long time past, and I do not want veterans to dredge up pain long since buried, but if you are able to share we might gain something from your story.

Future Books
I already have the macro storylines and outlines for my next two books. The next book has close to 50 pages on paper and I only need to find the time to write. I am very busy trying to promote and sell "Shadows Of Saigon" which cuts in to writing time.
Then too is my requirement as former member of the Intelligence Community to submit everything I write to my Agency's Publication Review Board before it gets published. The process is quicker than one would expect, but still another obstacle.

Hobbies
The last line of my biography reads that I spend a lavish amount of time on the golf courses or on my boat. Don't let this be misleading. I asked my oldest daughter for her insight on my bio. She wrote in jest that I spend an obscene amount of time golfing and fishing. I changed "obscene" to a less graphic word "lavish" to convey an amount of time. The truth is I retired to Pinehurst, N.C. (the Cradle of American golf) specifically to play on their nine golf courses and I try to play several times a week. Also, I own a bass boat which I take out on nearby lakes to bass fish. My life would not meet any threshold of lavish.

I grew up in a military family, with a father that served in Vietnam. I too served in the USNR, so I'm no stranger to the military way of life. I have always had an interest in the Vietnam war, even taking courses on the war as an undergraduate. However, it was my uncle, Charles Raymond, who gave me the ground truth about firefights and daily drudgery of life in the Nam. He served three tours in the 1st Cav, including a tour at Phu Bai where he was under fire bringing supplies up the river to the marines attacking Hue City. Imagine being 20 years old and coping with the real possibility of death every day. Brave men!
