My Review of The Lost Apothecary
The Lost Apothecary by Sarah PennerMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I typically don't read historical fiction, but I discovered this gem after seeing Sarah Penner speak at a virtual event.
This is an incredible read AND listen. It's apparent that she has done her homework on all things related to this era. I love her writing style.
To my luck, I had the honor of actually meeting Sarah at a writers event in Florida. She's super down to earth, approachable, and very kind.
I plan on reading the rest of her books, including her upcoming release of The London Séance Society.
Congrats on all of your success Sarah! The best is yet to come.

My review of The Tobacco Wives
The Tobacco Wives by Adele MyersMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Adele Myers debut novel beautifully immerses the reader within the complex world of Big Tobacco in the North Carolina in the 1940s. The Tobacco Wives is a must read and even a better listen for anyone into historical fiction. I can't wait to read her next novel!
My favorite quote from the book: "But mostly, I cried because I saw the world differently now. I'd be soon sure of what was right and wrong, of who was good and bad. Through my child's eyes everything was so simple, so clear. But life wasn't like that. It was far mor complicated. I understood that now. And now that I knew, there was no going back."
