| This is a helpful book to see that the Bible is not some fact book that always recounts exact events. There are very clear narratival selections and themes present in the stories told, details given, and even word roots selected. Eli being overweight ...more | |

| Very engaging and great anarchistic tones, just not as moving as the other books - particularly the last one. | |

| I had this book on my list for awhile but finally got around to it after Ellul referenced it. I feel like the author described our society to a t, and he wrote this way back in 1967. There are some very insightful and fascinating concepts in here. It ...more | |

| The book was hard to get into, but it really began to hit hard about half way through. Ellul was prescient as to propaganda, and he’s no less prescient about how technique is shaping us as societies and individuals. I especially need to go back and r ...more | |
