Welcome!

Wow, it feels so weird to see The Blackest Blue available for purchase. In the Notes app on my phone, there's a draft from 3/21/20 entitled "Sci-fi novel idea," and now, over two years later, that idea has blossomed from four bullet points written at 12:35 am into a story that I am so excited to be sharing with you all.

I suppose I should start by introducing myself! I only just released my first novel, so I'm sure I'm unknown to most of you (unless you've been following along on Patreon!).

My name is Luna, and I'm an author living in New York City. I've always loved sci-fi - Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card was one of my favorite books growing up, and the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld was also massively influential. I remember many evenings on the floor of the family room, glued to the TV as my mom watched back-to-back episodes of Star Trek: Next Generation. As I grew older, my tastes expanded a bit, some of my favorites in the genre growing to include the Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons and the more complex sequels to Ender's Game. I also love anime and manga, with series like Akudama Drive and Attack on Titan serving as some of my favorites.

After high school, I ended up bouncing around between different jobs in the visual arts before I decided to go back to college, eventually ending up studying social and cultural psychology at Columbia University in the city of New York. The theories I was learning collided with my love of writing and storytelling, and led me down the path to the project I am pursuing now - The Remnant Cycle. I vividly remember a college professor opening up the semester with Plato's Allegory of the Cave, and the ideas inspired me so much that I wrote The Blackest Blue, a sci-fi evolution of that very allegory.

But that's enough about me for now! I'll try and keep up with posting on here, sharing some content from my Patreon that looks behind the scenes at the writing process for my novel and my thoughts about various topics. I hope you enjoy my series, and always look forward to hearing from anyone in comments, messages, or, best of all, reviews!
