Recently retired as a high school biology and chemistry teacher, I earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Southeastern Massachusetts University. A graduate degree in education from The George Washington University was next, followed by a second graduate degree in business administration from Boston University of Brussels, Belgium. I'm a veteran junior officer of the U.S. Coast Guard.

I lived in Maryland before moving to Germany for four years. Cheyenne, Wyoming, came next before going back to Germany once more. I returned to the United States in 2001.

I'd often imagine what it must have been like to be at the signing of the Magna Carta or the Declaration of Independence. Or experience - from a safe distance of course - the Battle of Gettysburg and landing at Omaha Beach. Well, none of that will happen.

But if it could happen. If there was a way to travel back in time. Or forward in time just to see if we have managed to survive as a civilization. That is the world that H.G. Well created in The Time Machine. To visit not one fictional world, but all our worlds that were, or will be. Now that would be something.(less)
