Her husband was an Army officer at Fort Richardson, and she had four young children. He was abusive to her and had caused her to miscarry a child previously. One night she disappeared. Another friend and I contacted the authorities, but to my knowledge, she was never found. I often wonder what happened to her.(less)

The First Thanksgiving in America

Why We Give ThanksDespite the challenges we as a nation face politically, economically, and culturally, we are still blessed to live in the United States of America. Thanksgiving Day is coming soon when Americans gather with family and friends to enjoy a bountiful feast. Many today have forgotten the  true meaning of Thanksgiving Day, calling it Turkey Day. As Christians, we celebrate by thanking Read more of this blog post »

Daniel Webster
“If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.”
Daniel Webster

Daniel Webster
“If religious books are not widely circulated among the masses in this country, I do not know what is going to become of us as a nation. If truth be not diffused, then error will be. If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendency. If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will. If the power of the gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of this land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end.”
Daniel Webster

Nicholas Sparks
“I don’t know what else I can tell you, other than that I can imagine spending the rest of my life with you. I know that sounds crazy. I know we’re just getting to know each other, and even admitting what I just did might make you think I’m nuts, but I’ve never been more sure about anything. And if you give me a chance – if you give us a chance – I’m going to live the rest of my life proving to you that you made the right decision. I love you. And not just for the person you are, but for the way you make me think that we can be.”
Nicholas Sparks, The Choice

Carrie Turansky
“Giving your heart away before you are certain of a man's character and commitment is dangerous. You must discern his true intentions or you'll pay a high price.”
Carrie Turansky, The Governess of Highland Hall

Carrie Turansky
“Love keeps no record of wrongs . . . It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 CORINTHIANS 13:5,7”
Carrie Turansky, Where Two Hearts Meet: Tea For Two / Wherever Love Takes Us
