I'm baaack!

I took some time off from writing, and...well...basically everything except reading. Sometimes you just need a break, and gather your thoughts. It's been a good break, and I'm ready to get back to it!

Destined to Kill is doing well, and Something About Eve has picked up steam since the new cover. Which is awesome since the sequel, "Flawed Perfection" is coming very soon!

I'm always looking for reviewers for Destined to Kill...so, if you're interested, let me know and I'll send you a file (.mobi, .ePub or .pdf) in exchange for an honest review! Help me get this book out there! Please and thank you!

Reviews

As a writer, I understand that reviews are important for a book and the author. Of course, I know that pleasing everyone is impossible. Everyone's tastes are different, and as a writer, you can't pretend to believe that everyone will understand why you wrote something the way you wrote it.

As a reader, I look at reviews, though I don't really let it influence me one way or another, because of the reason above. Everyone's tastes are different. But, I do enjoy seeing what other people think, as long as the criticisms are constructive and not mean spirited.

As both an author and a reader, my biggest pet peeve about reviews of a fictional book is when people say things like:
'It's unbelievable.' 'That would never happen in real life.'

It's called fiction for a reason. These are stories from imaginations of different people. They are fictional characters, in fictional places, in fictional situations. Truths are stretched to fit the story that is in the author's mind. Heck, I write about vampires. Of course, that's not real life. I understand that some people want as much "realism" as they can get when reading certain kinds of fiction (i.e. romance). But, even though I can't see myself falling head over heels for some arrogant, abrasive, insensitive ass, I can still read a book with objectiveness. :) It's about going outside of your 'reality' and letting your imagination take over. That's what books are for. If you want realism, live your life. If you want a bit of sensationalism and indulgence, read a book. Take life seriously. But, when you read, let that go and just...enjoy.
