I am working on the audio book simultaneously, but I have also been writing a new book. This time, or should I say during this time period, it is difficult to keep focused on only one of these at a time as I feel they are both important.(less)

The gifts G-D gives us must be earned through righteousness, and maintained through righteousness. Always look up to receive!
The ideals which make for good character are not necessarily tangible; temptations, however, are always part of the material world - even power! “How so?” you may ask (since we’ve heard all-too-often about its corruptibility!). Power is about controlling people and indu Read more of this blog post »

“Torah is not just a book, not just a bunch of laws, and not just a history, but so much more. The Torah is a way ofd life to learn and live, and when studied, a spiritual way to understand life as well as providing instructions on getting closer to Adonai (God). When we treat others kindly, fairly, and lovingly, both in our home, social, and business lives, we are living Torah. The "truth" is the Torah is many things simultaneously.”
Laura Weakley

“Leadership isn't about power for the sake of power - not true leadership. Instead it deals with modeling behavior you want others to have, and with responsibility for being certain the people you lead are treated equitably, and with respect. Not an easy task. You can't make other people feel anything, or think anything; you can only try to teach them what you want them to feel and think and why you think they should act accordingly.”
Laura Weakley

“We are images of Adonai, and are responsible for one another, and for taking care of all on earth created by Adonai: just as Adonai is responsible for everything created. We learned to differentiate between good and evil. We can even create order out of chaos, as Adonai did on day one. We not only procreate, but also teach the next generations. (Deuteronomy 6:7). All of these abilities and responsibilities, we inherited when created in the image of Adonai. Every person also has a spark of Adonai within. We can choose to ignore this, or to embrace this. We have the power of choice. With this great power, comes great responsibility. You see, not only were we given the ability to reason, but also, we have the ability to create a new and different future, because we have the ability to change, both ourselves, and the world.”

Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches

“There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state with another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, Morrel, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Laura Weakley I feel badly for my recent lack of availability and participation in the groups, by my computer was dying a slow and agonizing death. Both my harddrive and my backup harddrive died, so I am now in the process of rebuilding my website, and am working as quickly as I can! Please bear with me. I love this website (goodreads), and I am interested in what you have to say to me, but almost all of my computer time each day is spent rebuilding. It will be finished, please G-d, this week or next! Then I will need to do a lot of catching up! I was even making great progress on my next book, but it too will need to stay on hold until I have my website issue resolved! Thanks for your patience and your indulgence in reading this long update! I didn't even get to go to the party in New York honoring the winners and Honorable Mentions because I only just found out it was on June 10th! If anyone associated with the book festival is reading this, I am sorry to have missed out on the party.

Laura Weakley Todd Daniels posted this as a comment to my review of my book: "What The Torah Teaches Us About Spirituality/ Through Isaac's Own Spiritual Journey"

Author Laura Weakly provides a particularly deep analysis of the character Issac and provides unique observations and perspective that the average reader, and even the average scholar, will likely miss. By following Isaac's spiritual journey, the reader will suddenly realize that God has provided a path for everyone's own unique spiritual growth. Experience the joys, pains, and thought process that must have gone through Isaac's mind as you read this impressive book.
