Michael Jackson's This is it.

This is my review of the the movie Michael Jackson's This is it.

I was hesitant to see the movie because I felt it would be sad. I expected to cry, or feel sadness just watching him and knowing that he's gone.

However, I felt just the opposite. There were no tears, just calmness and peace.

This movie is a celebration of the artist that he was. One reviewer stated "This concert would have done for concerts what Thriller did for videos" and I have to agree. Michael was putting together a show unlike anything we've ever seen before. It would have been phenomenal.

As I watched the rehearsals I felt the excitement, and the awe that is a part of watching Michael perform. He's been described as a perfectionist, and that is evident in this film. However, he wasn't a tyrant cracking the whip to get things right. He spoke to his dancers, singers, and performers with respect. He's very hands on and knows exactly what he wants. But he's humble enough to ask kindly in order to get it.

My only disappointment in the movie was that everything we see of Michael is rehearsing and performing, or preparing for rehearsals and performing. I would have liked to see some scenes of Michael talking about how HE felt about the tour.

However, I realize this movie was done as an "after-thought" so those scenes were never shot.

After viewing this movie I can't wait for the DVD so that I can rewind and watch the Smooth Criminal and Thriller scenes over and over again.

It also solidified my opinion that Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer to ever live.

I love and miss you much Michael.
