The best part of writing
Here it is January of 2014. The holidays are over and I can't wait to get back to my writing routine.
My novel in progress is calling me, whispering to me like a lover.
"Come back, come on back so that we can be alone"
The structure of my novel "Leaving Cold Harbor" is all set up. I have researched and written on it for over five years.
Now, having been away from it for a while I get to do the best part. I can look at it with fresh eyes and start the process I love. I don't call it editing.I can go through it now like I would a poem, caressing every word. What will go, what will stay? What to slap and fling out..what to fondle, what to grieve?
Yes, I am ready for the best part of writing.
